I am confused and was hoping someone could help me out. I bought a few votive holders today. One was a ribbed votive holder and the other was a flower pot holder. On my receipt it says votive holders. I am confused because their is a sticker inside that says use w/ tealights only. I thought votives and tealights were different. I called Jo-Ann's and they advised that tealights were votives???Please help me!:undecided

Candle Man that makes sense. Thank you! I am curious when burning a candle in a terra cotta pot, will the paint/mod podge produce a chemical smell when the wax becomes a liquid? Thanks!:smiley2:

Thanks for the replies..Just to confirm as long as I mod podge the inside a few times over the paint this will not be a fire hazzard?
Thanks!

Hi, I wanted to pour wax into a terra cotta pot that I painted. Could you please tell me if the below procedure would be safe to burn a candle in?
1)modge podge inside and out
2) Paint inside and out
3)modge podge inside and out again
Thanks!:smiley2:

Way to go! At least your progress is better each time. When I make things 2 or 3 times it seems like I am taking steps back! Great work!

Those are beautiful! I bet they smell good too!

Great idea!

Wow! I love it...I'd by a slice for sure!

I am so confused because last night when I was looking at your post (scented...it's been awhile) there was no pictures. Then this morning there were??? So, I don't know what the heck is going on...

LauraInNY told how she made firestarters. If you type in Firestarters in the search field on page 2 look for the date 10-6-05 you will see how LauraInNY makes them. HTH!

Oh HenryK thank you so much. What you described is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you so much. I tried something similar to that today. The only thing that I did different was I tipped the presto pot over but some of the wax that melted splattered everywhere when the hard wax came out. Not a very good idea. Yours is much better! Thanks!:smiley2:

Thanks Scented! I did try to clean the molds out before pouring. I wasn't going for the rustic look how can I avoid that or is the wax I am using meant for the rustic look? Thanks!

Hi. I have a few presto pots and need more. However, I can't buy anything for awhile so I have to be glad w/ what I have. So, I was wondering if anyone knew how to change waxes out of the presto pot? Thanks!:smiley2:

Hi, I am making votives today. I am getting a little better every time I make these but today I ran into another problem that I haven't seen before. I am using MP145, heated to 175 added FO and poured at 175. When I took them out of the mold I really don't know how to describe it other than the fact it looks like dry skin flakes on the sides of the votive. I wish I had a digital camera so I could show you all what I was talking about. Does anyone know what this could be? I did heat my mold before pouring. Thanks!:smiley2:

Don't laugh but is there a difference between Paraffin/Soy and Paraffin/Veggie?

I was wondering if BC was going to redo their .99 sale on 1 oz FO because of the shopping cart issue? Anyone Know??? Thanks!:smiley2:
