  2. Of the ones you listed, I only tried (and love) pumpkin pie and violet and birch. Customers love the honeysuckle pear although I hate it. I also LOVE the lemon bundt cake - absolutely yummy! Lori

  5. I know dendritic salt is supposed to hold the fo better due to increased surface area, but i'd like to know from anyone experienced with it if it really does. Have you tried your bath salt with and without and noticed any difference? thanks, Lori
  6. I agree with bunny - i use fco instead of cyclo in my dry oil spray. Lori
  7. Just wondering if anyone has any info on it like what are usage rates and when you add it in. I checked on the BASF site but was very overwhelmed......it looks like from 3-5%. Any info would be great. thanks, Lori

  11. Hi Charity, I see that you're from texas. You should give Greenleaf a try, as they are from there. Every fo I've had from them has been yummy. http://greenleaf.com HTH, Lori
  12. Anyone ever tried this wax in their lotion bars? I'm in florida and use in it in lipbalms as I hate for my balms to drip on me when i open them . So I'm thinking that my lotion bars may not survive the florida heat if i use beeswax. I'm just concerned that the bar will be too waxy. I'm gonna try it but thought you all might have some experience with it. thanks, Lori
  13. Those are gorgeous:drool: You have been one busy woman! Lori
  14. Thanks everyone :highfive:, I'm going to try yet again. More beeswax, cocoa butter, a little cyclo, and a little less shea. I'll get it one of these times:rolleyes2 Lori
  15. Thanks for the quick reply - one more question. How hard are these supposed to be? I added more beeswax and they are better and can get them out of the mold but they start to 'melt' as soon as I touch them. I'm thinking they are too soft. When you take them out to use them, do you actually have to rub them between your hands to use it? If I did that with mine, I'd have way too much on my hands. thanks, Lori
  16. thanks crafty, I think my problem is I've never used one before and I don't know what they are supposed to feel like :undecided. Is the feel comprible to lotion or is it a totally different feel? I agrree - portablitly of these is the reason I wanted to try and make some. Does the beeswax do more than just make them hard?
  17. Ok, new to this and I have never used or made a lotion bar before. Made a batch last night and although it came out too soft I tryed some to see what it felt like. I don't think I'm gonna like it. To those of you who make and use the bars, do they pretty much have the same after feel as regular lotion. I like lotion that is not too greasy but yet stays with me - kwim? The feeling I got was it wasn't that greasy but it didn't stay with me at all. In fact, had to use some regular lotion afterwards. I am remelting it now to add some more beeswax as the recipe I used (im sure I got it off here) called only for cocoa butter and I added some shea to it, but didn't up the beeswax to compensate for the softer shea butter - hence the reason for the bars being to soft (right??) So anyway, how's the feeling of your lotion bars... Lori
  18. I'm a newbie so haven't ordered from all that many places but I'd have to say greenleaf. I was looking for a citrus pine fo and while Brenda didn't have any in stock, she made a trip to her suppliers, found out they didn't have what I was looking for, so she mixed up several scents and sent me samples with my order. Now hows that for customer service!! www.greenleaf.com Oh, and her fo are to die for! Lori
  19. Oh yes - most definately Greenleaf. Smells just like my bush outside. Others I've smelled are to perfumy, although I haven't smelled peaks. Brenda at GL said she looked for years before finding this oil. Its wondermus! Lori
  20. Thanks girlies :highfive: I'm going to try it tonight.
  21. I tried bohunks scrub and the portion that I jarred is fine but I put the extra in a baggie and i guess my kids just couldn't keep their hands off it and kept poking at it. I have since put it in some malibu's but it is separating. Has anyone tried whipping it up again to 'fix' a mistake, even after the sugar has been added? Was hoping someone had some experience with this as it is still usable but would like it to be the original consistancy. I would also like to add some liquid soap to it as one CT'er suggested, to aide in washing some of the oil away. thanks
  22. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try tonight. :highfive:
  23. I tried the dry oil spray with cyclo/AKO (50/50) then mix 7/1 part fo. I like the feel of it but it seems to be spraying in more of a stream instead of a mist. I used the same type of mister that I use with an alcohol based spray. Any suggestions. Is this just the way it sprays or do i need to get different misters. thanks
  24. Good to hear - mine sample is coming on thursday! Can't wait. Have you tried their vanilla lavender. It's my new favorite. YUMMY! Lori
  25. You are the woman!! Thanks for your quick response. I'm going to order some and try it out. I've been having fun testing the different oils and butters and this base looks pretty forgiving. (great choice for a newbie, huh )
