  1. Hi, new posting here but have spent LOTS of time learning. I saw your post about adding shea butter to the NG multi-use cream base. I went to NG's site to order some and noticed they recommend only adding 2% extras. My question is: how do you know when you can add more stuff to the bases and when not. Do you just test and wait to see how long it lasts or just test to see if the emulsion holds together. Please help give me some direction. I'd like my stuff to have close to a years shelf life. Do you add more preservative? Also, is your cream light and fluffy - I'm looking for a good base to be able to make a mousse or souffle type cream. thanks
  2. jenniejr - you are right... I'm "yucking" OOB. I'll have to go ahead and try it. I've just never run across a fo that doesn't smell anything like what it's supposed to. I am a newbie though so i guess that doesn't mean much. I just love this forum and thanks to all that replied, I will give your suggestions a try. Love the idea to mix just a little to give the fragrance a little "humm, what is that" !
  3. Thanks ya'll - I will try some of the ones you mentioned. Good idea about mixing more than one together.
  4. I have a lb each of chocolate and cocoa and YUK . I've had several people smell them and the same reaction! Does anyone have these oils and any suggestions for mixing. I've mixed them with almond and its ok - the almond is strong enough to cover the 'yuk' smell but not really sure i like the outcome :undecided thanks
  5. Hi all, new poster here. Found your board last night and was up til all hours reading all the great info. I have been playing with fo in BCN lotion base. I am following their recommended fo amounts and the scent is wonderful when I first use the lotion but seems to fade pretty fast. Like within 15 - 30 minutes I can't really smell much on my hands anymore. Is this typical or do I need to add either more fo or something to make the scent linger. I'm used to putting tutti dolci on my hands and being able to smell it hours later. thanks for any help you can give!
