I'm going to pour another tester tomorrow & let it set for a week or 2 & slap my hand every time I think about lighting it
-
Thank you I guess it's just the nature of the beast then CW is that candlewic? I have still about 30 or more lbs of GG so I have to use it.

I'm testing burning the 15 ounce libbey storage jar that I poured Sunday with a CSN 14 wick. I am trimming the wicks as short as possible & am on my 4th burn. The flame starts off extremely high after about an hour it calms down. It has burned down to the beginning of the widest part of the jar & the flame is flickering really bad I don't know if you can tell much from this pic. Does palm wax just naturally have a higher flame & flicker more? I started out with really short wicks prior to each burn.
Scented with Candle Cocoon's Spiced Apple Pie & 5% FO
I'm going to keep burning it to the end & see what happens. Thanks for any help/input.

That looks soooooooooooo yummy Did you just plop the whipped topping on there or did you pipe it somehow?

I ordered a sample of wax from Clarus their CSB Stasis 3020 a few days ago. Just got my sample & it's like 10 lbs of wax
More wax to play with & hopefully it's as good as the 70/30 blend I'm about out of

No worries lol I typically don't let mine cure lol I'm usually too anxious to wait but I had remelted this one & back to the melt pot it goes again. The glass glow I poured yesterday with the Spiced Apple Pie I started burning today & it smells awesome already.
-
It's been curing for about 3 days now & no the wick hasn't waivered at all. I misread I guess or misunderstood the diameters or something. What can I say "Old age & brain is dead tired" lol Going to remelt with a smaller wick & see what happens.

Ok this is after (2) 4 hours burns with a CDN 12 I didn't trim the wick before the 2nd burn because I know customers won't trim. It blew out on the 2nd burn. I'm ready to give up on this I guess I'll try a CSN 14 or the CDN 10 I forgot to mention it's 3" in diameter with 5% fo no additives.
I think I just answered my own question & problem lol

These are what I'm testing now. All Candle Cocoon fragrances from left to right: Winter Wonderland, Frankincense & Myrrh, Pepper & Port & Spiced Apple Pie. I don't know what I was thinking on the coloring of the Spiced Apple Pie it looks more like the whole apple instead of the pie Forgive my scribbled notes on jars lol
I am very pleased with all of these fragrances it's like they just come alive in the wax & I used .3 ounces in each jelly jar nice strong cold throw.
I'm testing a CSN 14 in the glass glow to see how it's going to work.
Sorry for the crappy pic

I think for the 1st 3 hour burn it looks good my problem was the wick curling & the glass getting way to hot on one side I mean blistering hot. May have to buy some status jars & try the CSN 12.
Gorgeous soap BTW

I can't really tell from your picture but it looks like an 8 ounce jelly jar. I am testing it with a CSN 12 & it's working good however, I have found with the palm wax the wick needs to be kept trimmed short. I may try going down to a CSN 11 once I order them.

Thank you Do you package them in plastic bottles?
-
May I ask what article you are referring to? I'm having nightmares trying to wick my glass glow & how long do you let them cure?
-
I've never ordered slabs my waxes have always been flaked wax but I have never received bags torn & wax pouring out in the box.
-
That would be great I have Print Shop 23 & where do you order yours from now? I get so tired of trying to get them printed right lol You can email it to me at ladysjdenton@sbcglobal.net Thanks

Thanks Steve I love this wax but was really wanting to be able to offer 100% soy candles but I've been so pleased with this wax I really don't want to change. Where do you purchase your wax from?
-
Heat and wipe here too

I have been tying my candles with Homespun from the beginning, about 12 yrs. I use brown lids now but that's about all that has changed. The purple one is a perfume scent, I put sheer ribbon on it. Plus my brown tags are a little smaller.
I really like the look of those. I have just the regular 8 ounce jars & was wanting to dress them up a bit. What size are your tags?
-
I have Nature's Garden odor eliminator spray I really like it however, it does have a milky color after mixing FO's or the ones I've used it does.
-
How do you make them? Inquiring minds lol

Thank you everyone for the input I really appreciate it. I'll try your suggestions.
Steve I am going back to 6% FO I was having good results with it my son said they need to smell better when burning. "Like a dummy I thought I'll up the FO however, I did forget the 2 jars I gave him to test was not a full 6% FO load. Go figure. So back to 6% FO for me

Not sure how many of you are familiar with Green Leafs 70/30 blend 70% soy 30% paraffin. I'm at my wits end on this one. I'm testing a 26 ounce libbey storage jar almost 4" in diameter, 9% fo with 2 htp 73's. 1 of the wicks is burning fine the other wick is kind of dwindling out like it wants to extinguish it's self. I've been burning it for 2.5 hours now.
I guess my question kind of is can you get the wicks too close together & that affect the way they burn. I've tested CD 6's, Eco 4's double wicked.
CD 5's worked pretty good on the 15 ounce jars but needed a size up so I'm testing CD 6's on it now.
Could the higher percentage of FO be the reason? Maybe I need to wick up to bigger sizes than I would normally use?
ANY & ALL input, suggestions, help is greatly appreciated.

There is no way you'll be ready to sell by December unless you test & sell only 1 jar & one scent type. I've been doing this for years & always test everything before I put it up for sale. What wax, scent, jar & wick works for one may not work for another.
