I use 25% container and 75% PB
I have done this with 135- 464 and 415 with great results but I do have to say the 135 for this mix was my favorite but I hate to order it for just votives
Have you tried this combo for making pillars? I think I'm going to try & see & also for my embeds & see how it goes. Thank you
-
You can't burn PB votives like a pillar - they have to be in a tight fitting votive container
Several years ago I thought it would be cool to set a votive inside a mason jar for my sisters wedding and when I made all those dam things and did a trial run every one of them turned to a blob and burnt out in like 3 seconds
CS carries votive holders very reasonable in price and I think it was peak that has some new cool colors
I use LX14 and CD4 or 5 for most of mine
Tam- I use some 135 or 415 mixed in with PB for the votives- it softens it enough to where they don't crack coming out of the molds and helps with HT quite a bit IMO
About what percentage of container wax do you add to the PB?

If I'm just using the gel as like a topping & not scenting does it matter that the items in the candle don't have gel safe fragrances? This may be a dumb question LOL
-
I was wondering if anyone has mixed these 2 waxes. I have pieces of bags of each & was wondering if anyone has mixed them together & what the results were.

I'm looking for a true chocolate like a deep dark chocolate for use in GB 444. I have Aztec Molten lava which is nice but not chocolatey enough

I've not seen these do you have a link for the candles? Oh I found them & have seen them. I've not tried any of them though. I finally broke down & bought a Yankee Candle and it didn't show me a lot for their prices. Mine are far better as far as hot throw.

I'm using GB 444 8% fo. The cd 5's started out working good but the flame is dwindling. Candlescience suggests Either CSN26, Eco 16 or LX 30. I don't have any of these wicks. I have HTTP's in the larger sizes & I think a CD 10 is the largest in that size. Any recommendations?
I have LX30 flat braid guess I could try making my own tabbed wick.
I'm really beginning to think there is no way to double wick this freaking jar with any wax. It's very aggrevating. I have a 12 ounce libbey storage that the cd 5's are working great in.I also have the Anchor hocking 16 ounce comfort jar I need to test I'm hoping the 2 CD 5's will work since it's not as tall as the other jar.
I'm just really at a loss here & getting really ticked off.

Just wanted to let you know they have their 16 ounce country comfort jars with lids for $14.99 per case & a coupons for $$$ off of different totals spent. Plus free shipping over $99
-
I was wondering if any of you double wick the anchor hocking country comfort 16 ounce jars? I think I'd really like to double wick them & was thinking of starting out with 2 CD 5's. Thoughts, suggestions, inputs greatly appreciated. Thanks:wink2:

I'm not sure the best way to do this. I have someone wanting pricing for 150, 500 & 1000 candles to sell for a center fundraiser they are having. From my understanding they will have them displayed for sale not individual people going out & selling them. He's looking for about a 9 ounce candle so my thinking is a salsa or hex jar to cut down costs.
I'm not sure the best way to price these out I'm totally math challenged. I had a fundraiser sheet some where but can't find it now. Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated.

It's the regular mouth masons & penreco medium density gel.

I need a starting point for the 16 ounce mason jars on which type wick would be best to try first. I have eco's, lx & htp wicks. Thanks
-
I've not tried the wood wicks yet. I just got some gel wax in & am going to try it in a jar & see. I'll let you know how it goes

Thank you very much

I absolutely love the bath melts. I'd love to know where you got the mold if you don't mind sharing.
-
I was wondering if adding more embeds would help or make the gel burn better and or smoke less? Any ideas/thoughts? Thanks
-
I've made these the same way I make bath bombs & they work great I put them at the back of the tub that way not as much water to wash them away.

Does anyone have a description of this fragrance oil and red hot cinnamon? Please & thanks

You do not have to double wick the Apothecary jars. You can use a single Zinc 60 44 18 with those and it works great for me. Minimal if no sooting and all the wax burns out of the jar. Unless of course you are using 4627....... I have had some FO burn down the center with that wax when experimenting. LOL!
Just curious as to what type of wax you use?
-
I've never used straight paraffin in my container candles. I'll have to give it a try & see the results.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this wax not so brittle? I'm finding when trying to make embeds especially the wax has a tendency to break. Any suggestions? I have different types of pure soy container waxes do you think they would be too soft or is there a way to make them work for embeds & pie crusts? TIA
-
I have found with the soy waxes I'm testing that pouring hotter works for me. Pouring cooler does not work.

I've been trying every way I can think of online for these boxes. Either the clear clam shell type boxes for the 5" pies or the white cake boxes with the window on top. Can someone please point me in the right direction? TIA
