  1. I have never seen them with the spout already on them. As far as I know you have to do it yourself. search the archives here I believe there are directions on how to do it. HTH
  2. I guess i am the only one applying them before I pour. I have been lucky, not a problem yet, as far as losing a label due to spillage, or heat gunning. On a side note my labels are small, so this might have something to do with it.
  3. those pics just made me hungry. excellent work. Divorce can be so liberating, I hope it doesn't get crazy for you.
  4. wow those candles/molds are impressive. I am still having a hard time with the fragrance mushroom.
  5. beans for me, which reminds me I need to get some frsh ones.
  6. I too get bubbles no matter what. They sure are buggers. I think I might end up with carpal tunnel thanks to the heat gun usage
  7. I have a few my goods in a few consignment shops. Personally, I prefer the wholesale route. you get the money right away, as apposed to waiting for them to sell, it also ties up alot of your merchandise. I will not do consignment for more than 30%.
  8. Di I agree it isn't acceptable. Personally, I think that the newer candle makers see these claims, and figure why can't they? It's a live and learn situation. We all make mistakes, learn from them and grow. Bella, I like the feeling of your site, its refreshing. Keep tweaking and it will all come together. Take the constructive critisim for what it is and use it to make your site what it needs to be.
  9. As a soy candle maker, when asked the difference; soy vs parra, I specify that there are personal preferences. I will always mention the fact that the use of soy supports american farmers. Of course sooting is almost always brought up by the customer. My response is always the same, if its burning it will produce soot. Anything combustable will, but if you trim your wicks etc etc etc. The average candle consumer doesn't read about the testing done. They will take your word for it. Why wouldn't they we are the ones making the candles, we have done our research we know our facts. It is up to us to try to be as informitive, and honest while trying to make money. Had a customer the other day wanted to know why I make soy candles. I basically told her it is my preference. I like them better. Of course the above was included. She then wanted to know why not parra. Again I stated it was my preference. I like soy I like the burn. I personally only burn soy but if I were to purchase a parra candle it wouldn't be through the large companies. Unfortunately, the large companies are what people know. They have had some bad experiences and every single time I hear from a new customer that they would never burn a parra again, it's because of those companies, not the small mom and pop companies.
  10. Love the glow, awesome candle.
  11. I also use the 3oz from impact, at $3.50 each $4.25 for EO's
  12. Why is it acceptable for a major manufacturer to make false statements about a product? Here is a link to a major candle company's faq sheet. http://www.soybasics.com/faq.asp
  13. It is more likely the wax also, not just the dye, reds and blues are tough.
  14. Somewhere on here is a thead on how to apply a spigot to your presto pot. I use a ladel right now, but have been procrastinating. I really want to add that spigot. I just need to get off my but and get the supplies. It looks simple enough. I just did an ebay search and there are a few pesto pots with the spigots, asking $50.00.
  15. I am speechless, What a talent you have. It is BEAUTIFUL!
  16. I really like Scentifique. Very unique.
  17. Yup those tarts will crack if left in to long. I use votive or pillar wax, and add some paraffin. I have had problems with the straight soy being to soft for tarts, and can be a real bugger to get out.
  18. Exactly what I was thinking. Closer to the fall you could also mix pine and orange for a nice orange and evergreen.
  19. I love the colors, great job!!!
  20. Hi, I am new to this forum, but not to making soy candles. I have had the same experience, I even had a lady buying a sage & citrus candle, when she opened the top, she said ohhhhhh, is that the sage sticking out, how clever. LOL ummmmmmm. Personally, I think this bubbling up, or brain is caused by excess air in the candle, when put in a warm place it softens the wax causing the air bubbles to rise, hence itcky weird looking candle, IMHO. I do poke, stir and bang the bottom of the candle (gently of course). I dunno, but it is frustrating. Soy can be a real PIA.
