  1. FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called a guy about 15 minutes from my house and he's got it for 1.20lb this means no shiping and guess who is making bombs TODAY- I used all mine up on Sat and my order from thesage won't be here till Thurs. and I'm dying to make more bombs
  2. Hi has anyone found citric acid somewhere local to save on shipping? I'm looking into getting 50lbs and wholesalesuppliesplus is the cheapest I've found for 59.00 and the shipping is 25.00. So I'm interested to see if anyone has found it at a different type store or supplier where it is used for something other than soaping. Angiestaff
  3. Michelle I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers fest over A&C shows. I had a guy contact me (he had seen me at another fair and wanted me to be in his) well he called and said he brings in 200,000 people to his fest and all this stuff and I was thinking "yeah bullsh*t" and the booth was 300.00 and I hate to spend big money on booth rent so I said I would think about it, well he called and said he would give me a 10x20 intstead of the 10x10 for the same price so I agreed, girl my head was spinning that was a awesome fair and he did bring the people as he promised and it was the first one I went to where the vendors were really taken care of-we had private parking areas and private port-a-pots with a key so we did not have to stand in line, he had people constantly checking with us to see if we needed anything and he had a exclusive so you did not have to compete with other vendors, now I'm first on the list every year. 4. Do you sell fragrance oils or refresher oils? I sell a ton of these 1/2oz oils, you can make them youself or buy them for around .65 each-mine sell for 4.00ea or special 3/10.00. Also I carry incense super cheap to stock, you get 100 for 1.25 and I sell mine 10/1.00 or 100/9.00. This year I am adding Body oils to my line I found a supplier that sells them for 1.00 each and will label them with your company name if you buy so many from them. Just some ideas to think about that are fairly inexpensive to carry Angiestaff
  5. I have done arts& craft shows and fair/festival type shows, I personally perfer the fair and festivals. My first experience blew me out the water-I went ahead and booked two shows because my mom was in town to help, so I sent her to a A&C show with my daughter and neice to help her and I was going to do the fair myself, the first night I sold about 1200.00 so I called my Dh to meet me in the morning with stock from my shop before the fair started Saturday I sold a little over 2000.00 and my booth was about empty so I called my mom to see how the A&C show was going and it was ok but not great, I told her to pack it ALL up and come to my show the next morning so I would have something to sell for Sunday. That weekend we sold almost 5000.00 at the fair (I was pissed cause I was like 85.00 short of my 5,000.00). Okay so I learned really quick I like to do the fairs better than the A&C shows, I also learned that I can't do it alone EVER again-(I felt like I was set I had my cooler full of Dr Pepper and my cigs I had to ask the vendor next to me to watch my booth so I could use the port a pot I had to ask a teenager that was looking at my candles to PLEASE get me somthing to eat). This type of show is different from A&C the hours were from 5pm-12am, 10am-12am and 10am-10pm but well worth the long hours. So if you think about it a A&C show most people are there to spend a little money, get ideas of things they can make themselves and it's mainly woman and some children. Only a certain type of person goes to a A&C show. Now think about a fair-when you go to a fair you know you are gonna spend alot of money, everybody and their neighbor goes to a fair so your products are going to be seen by alot of different types of people, also most fairs have basicly trinket booths and people are glad to see some nice products to buy instead of junk and beleive it or not around here when people get a little beer in them they seem a little looser with the money. So I much rather a fair/festival than a A&C show so I would say "try it" and see how it goes-you will see all types of people who would never step foot in a A&C show-yeah I do have stories of things I've seen at the fairs that I would have never seen at a A&C show but I will also book a fair in a heartbeat. 6. 10x10 is the normal booth size I have done shows with 10x20 booths so I use another EZ-Up. As far as blowing away just about any type of tent you buy has these long nail looking things they are used to anchor them down into the ground-if you are on the ground. If you are on concrete I have seen vendors tie sandbags to the tent to weigh them down. HTH Angiestaff
  7. Summer Splash is a great scent, I've just started using some of Becky's scents and so far I have been very pleased with them. I just dread the new sales posted every Sat. cause I know she will have something I want to try (waiting on the Body Shop Exotic right now) Angiestaff
  8. I love my EZ-Up tent. You can also check with Sports Academy(Academy Sports) or any sporting goods store in your area that is where I purchased mine from, it will cost you more than 60.00 but you won't have any shipping fees. Home Depot also carries theses and another name brand that has a blue top with a silver lining to keep you cooler than the EZ-Up. HTH Angiestaff
  9. Oh thank you Robin! So now I'm gonna do some more searching to see if I can find a M&P with Palm Kernal oil-Do they make such a thing? Sami I would love to see that show also, the store itself was not quite what I was expecting to see but did not stop me from buying several items, I told my Dh that after reading the Lush forum and seeing all the Lush addicts that I would hate to have to NEED the stuff like some people on the board. But after sniffing my bags the whole way home I took the bath bomb and used it in the tub-the whole time thinking I might can make this myself. As far as the playdough smell, I did not like the smell of all of the products but they did have some that I really did like(which I had to buy), I did like the Karma, Blue Skies and the Sex Bomb scents. 10. Ok I went to Lush and purchased the famous Karma soap to me it kind looks like a M&P type soap so I looked up the ingredients on the Lush site and this is what it list as the ingredients: Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Perfume, Water (Aqua), Glycerine, Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), Orange Oil (Citrus dulcis), Lavendin Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Pine Oil (Pinus), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogan flexuosus), Elemi Oil (Canarium commune), Sodium Chloride, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), FD&C Red No. 4, I don't know alot about CP soap(I'm still doing alot of reading) but I thought most all of CP soap had lye in it, So I looked at alot of Lush's soaps and did not see lye or any Sodium Hydroxide or NaOH, So my question is most of the soaps start with the Propylene Glycol, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Do you think this is some kind of M&P or base that could be found. Thank you Angiestaff
  11. Thank you Candleman that will help out alot with trying B&B stuff
  12. Hi Carol I only added 1oz extra of the Baking soda, citric acid, sea salt and non-fat dry milk. I only added the extra powders to offset the menthol crystals-I'm kinda scared to use them after what it did to my poor DH last year, so I have been hoarding them for awhile bringing them out every now and then just to sniff. I purchased some bath salt with menthol crystals from a lady at a craft show a while back and they were awesome, when you got out of the tub you would have this great tingle (minty) all over your body I HAD to order the crystals but never got around to researching as to how to use them-so now I have more time to research and test. HTH Angiestaff
  13. Carmen's (EB Candles) Silky Suds This one is truly awesome!!! Silky Suds 16 oz. baking soda 4 oz. citric acid 8 oz. sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA) 7 oz. sea salt 3.5 oz. dry non-fat milk fragrance oil (25 drops, more or less) skin safe colorant, if desired 1. Place baking soda, fo and colorant in a gallon ziplock bag and zip shut. Make sure you squeeze the air out of the bag first. Knead the bag as if you were kneading bread dough. This will help to work in the fo and colorant. You may need to keep adding colorant until you reach the desired shade. Colorant is tricky...you don't want to add too much so add a drop at a time. You can always add more. Remember that you will be diluting the color so to speak when you add the rest of the ingredients. 2. Once you've reached your desired color, add the citric acid and SLSA. Again, knead the bag. 3. Add your sea salt and dry milk. Again, knead the bag. Add 3 tbsp. to bath. Ok so I tried this recipe yesterday and really like it, scented Shampure Aveda type from JS, my bath was great lots of bubbles and really silky. So today I was thinking about those Menthol Crystals I bought about a year ago (and tried-1x my poor DH! I put him in a tub with straight MC melted I think maybe a oz. it was the funniest thing) well I made the silky suds today but added 1oz more of each of the powders and 1/2oz melted MC to 1/2oz Avalance by Aroma Haven-Awesome is all I can say they had a nice tingly after getting out of the tub, think this will be a good sinus releif bath salt. Angiestaff oh and DH actually tried this tonight-I just didn't tell him it had MC until he told me that he liked it.

  19. Hi the cyclo I got was from AromaHaven.com it was 8.75lb MMS.com has both you color oxides and cyclo. cyclo is 6.50 a lb color oxides are like 4.50-6.00 for 2oz-remember a little goes a long way when on mms.com look under colorants to get to the oxides and the cyclo is under the perfumery or additives But I think this is going to be the one stop place for your needs right now-but I'm sure there are other companies I'm nor real familiar with. HTH Angiestaff
  20. She always seems to add more scents that I must try, I received a order on Thursday and placed another this morning-good thing I quit my job so I can get the packages put away before DH gets home(he'll never know right). One the other hand you know she will top this with the next sale that gets posted on Saturday-I'm waiting on the Sweet Pomegrante Orange. Angiestaff
  21. Sally I did not see a SOS sale for 1.00 can you give me some info on this sale?
  22. Starville soap supplies has the 1.75oz I have gooten them there for like 6.00 a dozen. HTH angiestaff
  23. Thank you both for your reply, I guess I'll go ahead and try SOS to see how it compares, the Exotic scent must not be as popular as some of the other Body Shop fragrances. Thank You Angiestaff
  24. I have searched everywhere. The fragrance finder says that Save on Scents has the fragrance but I have no experience with this company, I've read good and bad so I'm not sure about ordering. Thank you Angiestaff
  25. I have dealt with IFT, Here is a example of my experience with them. My Pomegrante fragrance is normally 13.95lb from my supplier, with IFT it was 7.35lb I had to purchase 25lbs at a time so 183.75 plus shipping I paid like 203.00. I had no problem doing this because I sell alot of this scent. Now Lovespell I did not sell as much of so only purchased 10lbs at a time my cost per lb was 8.75, but because I did not meet the 25lb requirement I had to pay a 15.00 sur-charge plus shipping, again even with the sur-charge it was cheaper than my regular supplier. You have to buy at least 10lbs and pay a 15.00 sur-charge or 25lbs with no surcharge. If you have a scent you sell a ton of then this works out real well to save you money or if you have someone you can go in with. Even with the surcharge you can save a good bit of money on 10lb containers, but your investment on your fragrances goes up big time, if you are like me the more fragrances you have the better you feel. If you contact IFT they will send you out 6 1oz samples to try- or if you are trying to dupe a scent you can send them a sample of the oil and they will dupe and send you a sample to try, you don't have to buy if you don't want to. The only one I had trouble with was Bird of paradise- when I requested it I was told Bird of Paradise the flower has no scent(huh), so after a little research on this scent so many customers were requesting I called back and requested Circle E type Bird of Paradise and was sent a sample that was dead on.
