  1. This is what really gives gel candles a bad rap, I used to do and sell a ton of gel candles but I took the time to learn everthing I could about gel before making and selling, then I ran across a girl a a flea market selling "lemon scented" gel candles so I asked several questions because it was so strong I wanted to know where she got that fragrance from, I about hit the floor when she said it was "lemon pine soil cleaner" I did buy one to burn (and to prove a point) and as soon as I lit it the entire candle was on fire, I tto it back to her and to the flea-market manager to show them what they were really selling. 2. Steve at the Candlemakersstore.com carries the Dpg at a good price so i guess check and see who is closer to you to save on shipping. You mostly see people selling the burning oils in 1/2oz bottles amber or clear, I use clear but I don't cut my oils before selling to the customer I sell bottles of staight Dpg so they can cut as to their taste if they like. I just found a new supplier for the 1/2oz bottle with a dropper for .12each you have to buy 540 at a time but it saves money in the long run. Angie
  3. You use the 91% alcohol to make whatt they call "lamp fuel". Just be very careful scenting the fuel. I beleive the recipes I have seen is 15oz 91% alcohol, 1/2oz frangrance oil, 1/2oz water. But you need to really test this stuff before selling-some frangrances are heavier than others so you would cut back on the frangrance oil or you can ruin the wick(or stone) certain scents can clog the wick, and these stone wicks usually run a customer 10.00-15.00 each so money saved on homemade fuel make end up the costing the customer more by replacing the wicks. I have tested alot of scents here with my lamps the vanilla or anything with vanilla and also patchouli type scents always gave me problems, but when I ruin a wick it only cost me 3.75 to replace it. If you want too carry something like this in your line I would suggest contacting a supplier who amkes it and just resale it, I carry the Sophia fuel and wholesale is only 4.00 a bottle I sell them for 10.00 and people love that it's such a deal. Also the Redolere lamps wholesale cost is 8.95 and 11.95 and I sell them for 30.00 so it has a good mark-up. HTH Angie
  4. I just ordered the Flowerbomb from SOS last night so it will be about a week before I get it in to try. I called IFT to see if they had it and at this time they don't so I'm hoping SOS is a good one, from what I have read it could be a hit or miss with SOS dupes but my husband would kill me if I ordered the SC dupe. 5. I've mainly seen them with the flax seeds and you can also add thiings such as lavender, peppermint etc. HTH Angiestaff
  6. Emu oil does have a ton of uses, i use it on burns and scars. I had Alopecia Areata and after reading up alot on it somewhere I read that Emu oil was being used in shampoos and conditioners with great benefit, so I ordered some and was applying it directly to my bald spots and my hair grew back so I swear by Emu oil. I also use it in my bikini area after shaving to keep the shaving bumps away. Angiestaff
  7. Sharon the Soak and Float is a solid shampoo bar it does NOT smell good but it does not leave the smell in the hair. Ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Water (Aqua), Cade Oil (Juniperus oxycedrus), Lavender Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Marigold Petals (Calendula officinalis), Rose Petals (Rosa centifolia), Perfume, I think it's the cade oil that stinks, but you wet the hair and swipe this bar on wet hair about 4-5 times and start shampooing, my little one loves the idea of a bar shampoo and she uses the Godiva shampoo bar so she can do it herself. 8. Have you tried making one with Calamine powder in it for acne? I purchased the Fresh Farmacy from Lush with Calamine powder for my DD and it has done wonders for her acne, now her face was not horriable with acne but 16yo problem skin that would get worse around her period has really cleared up and seems to glow now. I only make M&P soap right now but the most requested is my Sinus soap which is scented with Avalanche. Angiestaff
  9. You will not be able to package these in cello-wrap at least you wouldn't be able to package the Lush type this way. The Lush Jelly does get sloshie(?) when in hot weather. I have tons of Lush stuff here, I beleive I read about Lush on this board somewhere and realized that I have one about 1 hour from me so I had to check it out. Lush does have some awesome products, fresh face mask is real good I have tried 6 so far, Fresh Farmacy is a soap with calamine powder that is awesome for acne, Baby Face I use to remove my makeup and moisturize my face, Razorantium is great for shaving the bikini area with no razor burn, Jungle is a solid conditioner for your hair (tricky to learn to use) that is mainly cocoa butter which is a real good conditioner for summer time dry hair, Soak And Float solid shampoo bar got rid of my dad's dandruff in 2 washings (he has had dandruff for as long as I can remember and has used about every dandruff shampoo offered) Now the 1st time I went I got all kinds of bombs and bubble bars-mine are better(IMO) my bombs fizz longer and smell better, my bubble bars bubble more and smell better, but I got to try "what everyone was talking about" and it just made me perfect my bombs and bubble bars. I bought the Karma soap-I LOVE the scent and ordered a pound from Scentworks to make my own Karma stuff. The soap they sell is 31.52-36.06 per pound, while the Aquamarina sells for 41.96lb. Tomarrow I am going to Lush again, they have parties mainly on Saturday 4-6 you can try new things-SA are great to explain products and let you try the products my DD(8yo) loves to go (cause she cons money from DH to buy something so she gets a goody bag for herself-which she stashes in her room) and when you purchase anything you get a goody bag full of products, these goody bags usually have 30-35.00 of stuff in them and they have drawings for the gift sets (we have won three of the 60.00 boxes and a soap stack for 25.00) so I have tons of stuff from Lush here. 10. I have some Lush Jelly here and it is packaged in clear food like containers kinda like you see at a deli, the lid is seperate, the way they are displayed at Lush is a complete slab and they cut it, weigh it and put in container with a label kinda like when you get meat sliced at the deli it has a bar code the name of the jelly, pkgd date, weight and total cost. Have you seen the price on this stuff? 26.08 a lb! Angiestaff
  11. Ingredients: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Fresh Rosemary Infusion (Rosmariunus officinalis), Fresh Mint (Mentha arvensis), Propylene Glycol, Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus), Perfume, Lime Oil (Citrus aurantifolia), Menthol, Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis), Juniperberry Oil (Juniperus communis), *Limonene, D&C Green No. 8, Methylparaben I think we discussed this on the Off Topic board under Lush sinners maybe. These are the ingredients and I beleive it was said that the Carrageenan Extract was what made it jelly like and you can use Irish Moss to make it jel also, I did buy some Irish Moss but have not had the time to mess with this but this Irish Moss I have STINKS! I do have several pots of Lush Jelly in my freezer and it is nice in the shower but kinda hard to shower with. The consistency is thicker than like the jello jigglers it's almost rubbery like-if this makes any sense. Also the scents that Lush have are not great-one of the newest ones does have a nice scent but in general most I have tried don't smell real good. Angiestaff
  12. Satsuma from RE is awesome I just got another lb in yesterday. But I don't do soy but this scent rocks in my wax. Angiestaff
  13. I used to get the chunky type at Home Depot and Lowes just make sure it does NOT say PELLETS, I can't remember what color the bags were but you can also kind feel the bag to see and usually they have some bags with holes in them that salt has fallen out of. I never added anything but color and scent to mine. HTH Angiestaff
  14. I love Brown Sugar and Fig, I have the body spray from BBW, I ordered the fragrance from The Candlemakers Store so far I have made some candles and some M&P soap for my own stash. Angiestaff
  15. I would try the burnt rubber scent if we can find it... as for the burnt flesh NO THANK U! They say burnt flesh is the worst smell you will ever smell. Angiestaff
  16. WSP just had some black ones I ordered for like 4.50-5.00 per 100 look in the surplus items. Angiestaff
  17. After reading the reviews on this Body glaze I ordered 1 gallon, I received it yesterday and this stuff is AWESOME!!!! Now I'm wishing I had ordered more cause this is going to be part of my stash, not sticky at all. Thank you for adding to my addiction. Angiestaff
  18. I found mine at a chemical supply house, I looked under chemicals in the yellow pages and started calling...1st one I called had it and it was only 20 minutes from my house, now they only sold 50lb bags but at 1.25lb I was tickled---NO SHIPPING!!!!!. So check your yellow pages in your area and start calling you can save a ton! Angiestaff
  19. What about Calamine powder-has anyone added this to MP, I purchased some in hopes of making a calamine soap for posion ivy for my mom who seems to find PI on a regular basis. I haven't researched it enough to see how much to add yet but figured it wouldn't hurt to have the calamine powder here just incase I find the time. Angiestaff
  20. I am looking at ordering some M&P from Columbus Foods, does anyone use this or have any experenice with it? Prices seem good as well as shipping will not kill me. TIA Angiestaff
  21. I have not tried it, but I was there on Tuesday and I did smell it from the samples that were there and I really like the pomegrante and blackberry alot. It will be on my next order to try. Angiestaff
  22. Ok they have these as solid bath oil cupcakes and they look the same as the bubble bath cupcakes-I never thought of a silicone mold- I have considered using some cocoa butter to ice them with but I think it will work against the bubbles. They do have some real cute items but kinda pricey, my dd will have to settle for "hand iced" instead of "bakery iced" looking cupcakes I guess. Another place that has some real cute stuff is Dlishus.com . Seems like they dip some of the bath bombs in cocoa butter and decorate real cute. Angiestaff
  23. Mine comes from AromaHaven and I love it Angiestaff
  24. Yeah no yellow or brown either. Are you using any butters in your bomb receipe? Sometimes butters will stick to your tub and if it's colored leave a ring. I've read good reviews on Brambleberrys colors, I have been using Wilton colors with no problems but I do not use alot so my bombs are pale. I would love to get nice vivid colors and may go ahead and order from Brambleberry. HTH Angiestaff
  25. Have you seen the solid bubble bath cupcakes? Does any one have a idea on what they would use for icing these things?http://www.opensundaes.com/catalogue/catalog/index.php?cPath=1 I have seen these done as bath bombs and bubble bars and I have that down pat but would love to make some as cupcakes and have cute icing but my recipes seem to dry to pipe with a decorators bag, any ideas will help. I think this will be a hit with my little one (8dd) HATES to take a bath and I have been making bombs and bubble bars and she is now sometimes taking 2 baths in 1 day, so now I basicly am making at least 1 bath product a day because she wants to try the "newest thing" TIA Angiestaff
