Did you try the rum caramel truffle yet ? OOB can you smell the caramel + the rum ?
I've not put it in wax, but OOB, yes, you can smell both. It's unusual that you can actually smell the rum.

I saw somewhere, I have no idea where, that one of the 5694563487380693846 vendors had a violet that reminded a reviewer of those old violet candies I had as a kid. I still buy them when I go to NYC, and I love the scent. Does anyone know where I can find that scent? I need it.

I think it's BCN that has Sweetgrass and New Mown Hay. I guess when you say "wheat" I think of in the fields. If you mean bread, I'd definitely try WSP's.

That was an aspect I liked about it too! I'm thinking of using it as a base for a Ball Park Pretzel fragrance blend. I've tried SoS's pretzel FO and didn't think it worked all that well. I'll see if I can use this combined with a few other goodies.
That's interesting! I'm planning on doing some odd foodie stuff. May I ask what you're making?

Has anyone tried the Fresh Baked Bread from WSP ?
I have! I used it in melts. I love it. You can really smell the yeast. I look forward to making different "pastries" with it.

I just ordered a sample to try it. I'm always optimizing!

It's exactly those scent notes. Great description.

Thank you for posting this, its super helpful since I had some of these in cart as I type. Im surprised about the marshmallow fluff, I thought it would have
been stronger. Who's I want cake did you find is much stronger ? I think I'll add the Milk one to my cart and just get a sample maybe of MF to try first ?
So the milk one is strong for tarts ? Do you think it could pass as santa's milk n cookies scent ? Now Im wondering if the Vanilla Delicious will be as
strong as it claims in her notes section ....hmmm ? Im stumped about the Camay scent. Based on the notes described I wouldn't have guessed that.
Im super surprised by the MF being weak. Thanks for posting these - very helpful + informative.
I'm glad I could be helpful. I love Marshmallow Fluff and it makes me sad that it's weak, because it's the only marshmallow I've tried that isn't plasticy. The Let Them Eat Cake dupe I purchased was from Fragrance Buddy. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the scent, but if not, it's not a pure foodie scent.
I think the Milk one is strong enough for tarts, yes. I was surprised. However, I didn't try it in a huge area, just my studio, which is 10x10 feet. I actually turned off the warmer when clients were coming in because I wondered if they'd think it was too "milky" in there. When I tried the I Want Cake in that same space, it didn't reach the entire space. Same with Fluff.
You would need to add cookies to the milk. It really does smell like warm, sweet milk.
The Cake Bake and Cake Batter seem really strong OOB. I don't foresee a problem there, but I haven't put them in wax.

I am pretty sure that is it. I have some and it smells like the right one.
NG's is Honey Bunny, you're right, and the Toffee Crunch from DS is identical to NG's, at least OOB.

I don't blame you for being frustrated. I would too! Maybe message Stacy on Facebook. You might get a quicker response that way.
Thanks, Belinda!

I remember you mentioning that when you first received your order. I must say that would tick me off too.Out of curiosity which scent was it that was OOS Im wondering
if its been updated since then. BTW how'd you end up liking your selections, I remember you picked some great sounding oils.
I got some great ones, but I have no idea what was OOS. I don't know how I could even remember, now that I think of it, which is too bad. I just posted about the scents somewhere else on here. I think yesterday. Let me find it. Here it is:
-
WSP's Cucumber Violet, & Fennel. I had zero idea what this would smell like, (used in parasoy wax melts) but i took the chance. It's the first melt I've ever made that seemingly everyone who enters my house asks, "What is that?" It's definitely cucumber, but then herbal and floral in a very subtle way. But the hot and cold throw is excellent.
Another winner in my house this month is WSP's Blue Agave Sugar. Everyone thinks "pina colada." It does smell like that, but not a fake, horrible pina colada mix. It's more of a freshly-made one with the real ingredients, but without the rum. It's sweet but soft, and definitely tropical. Great throw.
Third is WSP's True Lilac. OOB it was cloying. After warming it, it permeated the house in a good way, and it was a realistic lilac. (Their Blooming Lilac- not so much. Lasted, like, three minutes, then died.) True lilac has great throw.
Day Star's Milk Sugar Kisses. You can REALLY smell the dairy, so this is going to be a wonderful mixer. Not at all fake. Good hot throw.

I'm so frustrated with Day Star. I know I posted something about this before, but she subbed a fragrance I wanted (because it was OOS) with a scent I already have and don't really like. She should have told me it was OOS. When I emailed her, I got no response, and that was months ago. I feel like I should get a store credit, since I don't even want the product. It makes me mad that she's happy to take my money and send out orders, but won't respond to an email. I own my own business, and I wouldn't BE in business if I treated my customers that way.

Im confused. How does almond, grass and vanilla translate to the smell of old leather books ?
The underlying old book smell is vanilla, but not in the sense we're used to. It's vanilla ex lignin, I've been told, which is derived from some kind of paper pulp. All of those scents are very, very subtle. We're so used to having almonds and vanilla and grass up in our faces as stand-alones. It's hard to explain, but they're all in there.

Any updates on thoughts/results? I'm now wondering about some of these too, as I may be making my first SOS order for samples.
I wish I could say yes! Alas, I haven't. I'm going to use them for an unusual line for Christmas.
I can tell you this: OOB the Pot Roast is STRONG (as in I had to put it in a baggie and tuck it away) and it's accurate. Other ones that smell accurate OOB are Gasoline, Magazine, Buttered Toast, Light Beer, and Beef Jerky.
I'm sorry I can't be of help yet. I'm a photographer and the busy season started, so I couldn't get into the project. When I do, I will update. If you do, please share!

Lol it really is ! It is an outstanding blender, too ? I may blend it with JS Creme de Menthe soon !
Ooooooh! It might smell like a grasshopper- the old classic cocktail, not the insect.
What I've tried in wax melts:
Chergui Winds is phenomenal. I love it. Try it and see what you think about the Camay part. It's an absolute keeper.
I Want Cake: As much as I am in love with this scent, it is way too mild. I bought it from another vendor and it was much stronger.
Milk Sugar Kisses: I love this. The dairy really stands out, so that's something important to consider. Would be a great mixer with a lot of things.
Marshmallow Fluff: Another very, very mild scent. I use it as a blender, and it's great in pretty much everything. It provides a softening effect without being too vanilla-y. On it's own, not enough marshmallow, but I will keep it and probably buy again for mixing.
Woods and Bitter Coffee: I haven't smelled the original, but this is really nice. it smells like a nice, soft sort of Old Spice scent, but certainly not a dupe and it's more unisex. I burn it in the bedroom because it's not cloying at all.
The Indulgent One: I've only used it as a mixer, but it's definitely in there, and I'll keep using it.
Out of all of these, Chergui Winds, and Milk Sugar Kisses have the best hot throw. I suspect the Cake scents would, too, as they're strong, but I can't confirm that.
NOTE: VANILLA TOFFEE CRUNCH IS AN ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS NAME. It is totally a Honey I Washed the Kids dupe.

Sounds tempting...
I'll check that out. Thanks!

Try ICS Vanilla Smoothie, it's wonderful on it's own and makes a great blender; a nice sweet smooth vanilla. Vanilla custard is delicious. There's also sugar milk (Dulce de Leche)
Thanks for those suggestions! I took a look at their site awhile back and got so excited about those last two, but I have a thing about pthalates, especially since I make body stuff. I know there's some debate about them, but I thought I'd avoid them. Vanilla Smoothie is pthalate-free, though!

I agree! I have TONS of their samples but won't hardly put them in wax because I don't know how to describe them. I hate that too because they have some really interesting sounding FO's.
I just took some chances with Oregon Trail- four scents- and I'll report back on them.

Those sound great, you have excellent taste in fragrance, I've noticed ! I was always curious about Raw Sugar & Mint. Loooove WSP's oils. The caramel rum sounds great, too !
I have their Coconut Rum Cake & it is phenomenal ! So if it's anything like that one, you are in for a treat
Why, thank you, @WaxingPoetic. You must have excellent taste too.

I like Lonestar's Marshmallow Madness!
I truly loved Daystar's marshmallow scents, thought they were mild, but I just can't bring myself to order from her again. I want to cry. She has good stuff.
