One word: respirator.
Buy one, wear it when you work with fragrance oils. There are several that actually give me a stomach ache and diarhea, headaches, etc.
If you don't have a respirator don't lean over your pot when you are stirring in your fragrance. Its a bad habit a lot of candlmakers have and over the years can lead to respiratory illness. Ask me how I know.
FOs are very potent and should not be inhaled or ingested. A respirator will fix the problem and keep your lungs clean.
Can you link me to the respirator you use, Candybee? (such a cute name, btw)
Also, how do you ever smell anything?!

I'm going through that right now. Yesterday morning I got up at 2:30 in the morning and started making candles and quit last night about 9:00. so 19 hours of pouring and last evening I got sick to my stomach, got a very bad headache (and I never get a headache) and eyes watering....just aweful. I took a couple advil and was up again this morning at 3:00 and am going right now to town so another 6 hours of candles and my throat is sore and Im coughing big time. I'm going to go and buy a mask at ACE right now. So I feel for you all!

I've been getting a sore throat, too. Clearly, we're not supposed to be inhaling these chemicals. I'm wondering if a simple mask will suffice. Hopefully, I won't need an industrial particulate mask! Please let me know how your mask works!

The other problem is, when I feel sick after smelling the scent I loooooovvvvved so much when I made it, I don't want to burn it. I want to run away from it.

I think it's an important reminder that these lovely scents are not very friendly. Crap.

I'm getting nauseous and having a runny nose while working with fragrance oils. My windows are all open. This is a pretty big problem, I'd say. Please tell me there's a solution!

Thanks to you both. I did check out the aroma chem profile for FBB but I am unable to find the chemicals for purchase. I may have found some similar ones, but I'm not sure yet. Please let me know what happens!

I've tried ALL of those! Let me know what you think! I helped create a few. Really interested in what you think about one of them....
Although. I will say, IMO some of the oils u listed did not smell accurate to me. And others are very accurate.
Oh, cool! I will!
I bought a wildly inaccurate scent from SoS and never went back. It was supposed to smell like Morrocanoil hair products. It did not. But, you never know when there might be a hidden gem!

very interesting.......are you making candles with them?
Out of curiosity, are you selling these to a special account/store that likes these things?
Yes, keep us informed.....

I'm making wax melts and perfumes with those that are skin safe. I'm blending them for a themed series. I promise to share if I can make it happen. I also promise to share if it's a disaster!

General Wax, not sure they still have it but worth a check.
It's now this, and they don't have it. http://www.candlemakingsupplies.net/displayScents.php?category_id=220
But, WSP and Backwoods are promising!

I think some savory scents would sell quite well. I would love my home to smell like some of those you mentioned. I did once have a really good fresh baked bread, I think it was from GW, very yeasty smelling I guess would describe it, but sadly that one didn't sell well. Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes, I would love! lol
I highly doubt it's to prevent offending someone because some of the names are way out there.

I forgot where I purchased it from...perhaps Sweet Cakes or Brambleberry? Buttery Croissant from Backwoods is wonderful as well and a lot cheaper. WSP has a great one too.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE BREAD SCENTS FROM? I've been looking everywhere. I found one in the UK, but was hoping to find one closer. (I don't know what GW is. DIdn't see it on the list.)

I just ordered these unusual scents from SoS as sniffies. I have no idea what to expect, but I can't find them elsewhere, so I figured it was worth a shot. If anyone is interested in hearing more about the resultant weirdness, I'll update.

When something like this happens I begin to obsess over finding out what else is out there that I don'y know about.
As if I needed more.
(I do.)

The biggest joy of candle making for me is blending scents. It is a passion of mine...but sometimes, I actually drive myself insane with it, lol.
My brain is always in ' blend, blend, blend ' mode and even if I am trying to relax, it always seems to be working overtime and involuntarily spitting out ideas at me.
I actually had a dream last night that I was blending like 35% Pink Sugar and 65% Vanilla Voodoo ( yes, I was measuring it out on my little scale in my dream lol ) and just poured it and it does smell amazing ! Can't wait for it to cure !
But geez...sometimes I wish I could switch it off and relax...is anyone else like this, or am I completely insane ???
Oh, and yes. All of this. All. The. Time. Let me know if you need an intervention.

I have only tried two, to be honest. WSP, which I do not recommend, smells nothing like Pink Sugar.
And The Candle Source, which is spot on and a great thrower for me, in palm and in soy. So I just kind of stick with TCS's now
I don't want to sabotage this post, but I just saw the prices for TCS FOs and they're so inexpensive! Would anyone mind sharing their favorite oils from them?
I also need a coconut.

I know some people who have successfully done it, but I've never been able to, so I stick with fragrance oils in my candles and save the EO's for my soaps.
Thanks! Do you make CP or M&P soap?

I have some EOs that I'd love to use in my CB Advanced, but I don't want to waste time and materials only to make a big mess. The scent of Cedar EO with FOs like Pipe Tobacco can be amazing. Is it possible to make an EO workable in a candle? I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere. It seems like there must be a way to stabilize an EO, but perhaps I'm merely hoping it's true. I'd be happy if it would at least work in a melt.

Prices are about right if you set up wholesale with a tax ID but shipping like everything else is a killer ?
Ugh. Shipping. Always the shipping.

I love you guys!

Eventually, we'll have them all memorized

Thank you!

I'd like to get a large number of warmers to test my melts, both for me and for other testers. Does anyone know where to get relatively cheap ones, since appearance doesn't matter?
-
Bramble Berry. Sorry about that. I rely on the acronym post here all the time! So many vendors!

Everyone wants it. Has anyone been able to replicate it?

It's a thing right now. I think Demeter has been trying to replicate things like these, but they haven't nailed it yet.
