Hey Marleigh, sorry for the late answer! I have been super busy!

I'm sure you already placed your order, but just in case...

I love the new Coastal Kale, it is fresh and green, but has a bit of warmth that elevates it beyond the typical "clean" type fragrance. As you know, I don't generally gravitate toward those types, but this one is extremely appealing.

We're almost past pumpkin spice season, but their Pumpkin Chai is wonderful, as is their Pumpkin Pancake. I mixed their Pumpkin Pancake with their Hot Buttered Rum, and it is freaking awesome. 😆

I can not live without their Voodoo Love. If you like hippy type fragrances, this one is a must. Insane throw!

Same with Mahogany Spice. Beware though, their Mahogany Spice is the same as Aztec's Fallen Leaves and WSP's Indonesian Teakwood. Exact same fragrance. But CW's is crazy strong, so that's my preference.

Those are my faves, but most of CW's oils are very strong and very good. It has been my experience, though, that the duds are stomach-churning failures though, so generally I am cautious and order samples of new fragrances first.

    HTH!

I'd love to hear what you ordered!

I agree 100% about CW ,most are super duper strong. I have Voodoo love , atomic for sure . I love many of their oils. I wanted to ask you regarding Mahogany Spice compared to Aztec .Did you mean Leaves BBW dupe from Aztec or Autumn leaves ? I use so many from Aztec & cannot recall a Falling Leaves ,other than the both mentioned . Just was wandering if I am getting the name correct ? I know Flaming has a Falling Leaves , wanna get this one into my wax.

I  interested in CW mahogany spice & appreciate your post .

Your very correct about sampling first with CW bc some have been a no go  ,not many thou .I love most all of their U&B selections performance is great .Thanks in advance about the MS & Falling Leaves question. This one sounds really good .

@katmeltswax have u tried the 141 from CW?

I will say Sarah s has the right idea on the 141 ,would have to be blended with a good container wax for melts . I use the 4625 pillar & blend with container for melts .

I would think the 141 would be great  for blending as well .

Sorry for delay in response .I have some major house remodeling going on atm.

I have tried CW 141 & did not like the high melting point .I do highly recommend their 129 for melts , great throw & great wax imo.

The 129 has a much lower melting point for melts .

When I spoke to Paul he said they were going to label the bad beads as high melting or something like that, they hadn't decided what to call them yet. He said to go ahead and order the premium beads and they should be the old ones. I would call and place my order just to make sure you get the right ones though.

I am so confused as to what may have went wrong bc I always ordered the premium & no issues ever . It's been a while back & ordered twice now . I an guessing he received a bad batch or something . I will call in my order & be sure to ask him for the exact same beads ,I received a couple months ago . They were really great & no issues at all. I know I ordered the Premium .

I'm hoping that these new beads which are actually the old beads, work for me as well as they have for the others. I agree with you on how they looked, they were horrible and I felt it was a waste of fragrance oil on them because the smell faded so quick. If it doesn't work out this time then I'm done with trying to make it work. The first beads I ordered were wonderful and I was very happy with them until everyone seemed to switch to the so called "premium beads" and that's when the trouble started for me!

Ok at this point ,I consider myself lucky to have received the hood beads . If I place another order for premium beads ,will I be getting the same as I originally started with . ?  never had a issue & performance was great .I am out& need to order asap . Thanks in advance .

UGH!  Yes, getting them from Plasticpellets4fun.  All of my fragrances are taking over a week, with cinnamon taking longer.  I don't use leather fragrance oils yet.  If I am able to get these ornies to complete cooking at 350 for 14 minutes, would that indicate I have the old beads?  Again, would like your input but will also contact owner of the pellet company.

    GoldieMN

The beads I used only took a day to dry & performance was great . I never received any of the problem beads . I hope the issue has been resolved ,I need to place another order asap . If they are taking that long to soak up the oils ,sounds like the problem beads . Hope I am not going to be wasting money on my next order . Customers have been very happy with the freshners so far . The beads I received were the best ever ,love these .

I've got some beads from PlasticPellets4fun but I haven't baked them yet. I did notice they have soaked up really fast though. Are these the problem beads? I was ordering from aroma beads online and she changed her beads and they're terrible!

Belinda,The beads that soak up over night, are the good beads .

I personally never received any of the problem beads from this company .I have had great results with all the ones I have received .

I know a couple of members here were having a issue . I think the problem has been resolved by now. I will be ordering again soon & love the results with the ones I used from Plasticpellets4fun. Yours should be fine .I am very happy with these myself & get good feedback . I have a ornie in my car going strong still after 5 weeks now . Let me know how yours are performing . Thank you bunches .

How long does it take you to dry, say,  a 2-cup batch of beads?   I'm using quart canning jars, shaking them often throughout the day.  It is taking me at least two weeks to get them completely dry.  Is this your experience?

    GoldieMN

The beads I purchase from Plasticpellets4fun only take a day to dry ,some scents will take 2 .Are you getting your beads from this company?

Let me know if you attempt to make your own ,please post a pic .

I am excited to hear about this adventure .

Looks very pretty to me @ScentedPleasurez.  I got a back injury a while back, that has changed my life in terms of chronic pain. My mom has been through several back surgeries herself, so I hear you all on that.

I know it's so hard dealing with chronic pain . It's quite the challenge to do these crafts right .

I try to stay positive & keep moving forward ,I find it helps me alot emotionally to stay busy as possible . It certainly beats sitting around feeling down about my condition. I do have good days & bad . It would be nice to have everyday turn out to be a good day kwim. I wish you all the best !!!!!

The wax that took the longest to cool, came out with no dimples. A slight dip but not really noticeable.

    20181006_104353.jpg

Appears to have smooth tops now.

Did you cool the wax down before cooling ? At what temp did you pour to get these results ? The reason I ask is bc I have some 450 & this wax is believed to be the same as 133 . I plan on test pouring the 450 soon for melts . A member here ,sent me some melts he made with the 450 & performance was super Imo. It was RE pumpkin lattee & a couple more . Hang in there you will find the comfort zone for this wax.

I took my temp all the way down to 250 and still couldn’t get it right so I called him. I would call and complain about them or email at the very least so he knows we don’t like those beads. They don’t hold scent as well either. The beads I ordered when the premium beads first came out are amazing! I told him those were the best bead I had ever worked with so let’s hope he keeps those beads instead.

I am so shocked to hear the beads are not working out .I will be placing a new order soon & compare .I am thinking I might better call him & ask if the beads are the same as the ones I purchased a while back . I want the same bc I loved the results & had no issues at all .In fact the beads were the best I ever worked with . I am Leary to order now ,fear they may not be the same .It's such a waste of money to invest &  cannot even use the beads . I will certainly talk to the owner & see what kind of info I can get.

Thanks!  My New Car Scent is actually behaving better than I thought.  It was not looking too great and today they were dry.  I added 1/3rd more ounces of oil to them...still below the recommended.  We'll see if they absorb this and I'll test a little more.  I'm so thankful they've absorbed half because the other one didn't at all and my SIL wants some custom ones for the football team in this scent LOL.  I even have to make a special cookie cutter...not too sure how that is going to work either.

I find this interesting .How do you make your own cutters? What a great idea !

How do you guys store your scents after they have been baked into shapes? Plastic tubs? Large bags? Of course, I place each One in their own individual bag, but I was curious to see how you store them to separate them by scent

I put mine in the polypropylene zip bags & store in a huge file cabinet I have ,away from the sun & light Keeps the scents fresh kwim .

For those using beads from Plastics4fun (yes they ship fast and prices can't be beat), can you share your trick for leather fragrances?  I started making these a few months ago.  I hear it takes longer to absorb so I started with 1 teaspoon in 8oz of beads and it still won't soak up.  I have the same issue with PinaColada.  I swear I had 1 tablespoon of oil and am now up to over a pound of beads and they are still wet two months later.  My most recent attempt is New Car Scent from Natures Garden.  I added 2oz of fragrance and 4 drops of dye to 1lb of beads...it's only been 24hrs, but it doesn't look like any of it has soaked up.

Any tips for this oh so popular, but very nerve wrecking scent, are appreciated 🙂

I have good luck with Candlesource leather oil ,soaks up super fast . I also do a cherry & vanilla leather . I add 1oz oil per cup = 6oz of beads .

Ouch! That stinks. Hate that happened to you.

I know that will really make you furious bc it's not always such a easy thing to come up with such unique catching names for products & then to see a company is actually benefitting the rewards from your own original name you thought of  yourself. Yes once patented it is unfortunately to late .

Sorry you have to see the name & success someone's else is getting from what was once Yours .

I agree. I just don't understand because years ago koolaid jammers purses we're sold everywhere. Nobody cared. I don't know why the companies didn't then but do now.

The few I know of that will really go after violations are Louis Vuitton,Chanel,Prada,Juicy Couture & Lacoste .

I know there has to be hundreds more as well . It is best to take TallTs advice & change the names on all  wanna be type scents kwim.

I see so many online items for sale, labeled with name brand types & not authentic. I  often wander how so many  can & do get away with selling these knock off items . I once purchased a Juicy Couture necklace & hand bag for my daughter & go figure it was not authentic at all . I had to return the both of them .Lol she would have known the difference for sure .

I would have never thought Kool aid would be one of those companies . I find that one interesting . I guess one should not sell melts, candles etc.. labeled Kool-Aid or Hawaiian Punch lol, certainly not worth the risk right

Kat,  do you want some pine cones?   Gosh, I live in pine cone forest and have bins and bins of them I use.   They are light weight and I can send you out a bunch.

I'll box some up and send to you...

    Trappeur

Trapp ,so very nice of you to offer .

I just love the firestarters you create,so awesome . I know your super busy with all your accounts and I soooo appreciate your offer .

I will be more than happy to cover the shipping for some smaller pine cones . I see cones for sale in stores during the holidays ,most are the giant cones scented with cinnamon oil ,way to big for a fire starter kwim.

I want to make starters that look like the ones you made . I think they are neat to use during the holidays for decorating kwim.

Lol I don't need a whole lot ,just a handful to make myself & my daughter's some for decor ,just love the ones you created in the pics . I think they will love these to set out & admire . What a terrific idea & so unique . The things that can be created with wax ,love yours so unique .Thank you so very much.

I need to get you the Marshmellow fireside oil I have from Aztecs out this week . I have been so overwhelmed with pouring lately,

I can finally take a break now .

I did not forget about sending you some of this new oil . It is a great scent ,think you will like this one .

    Thank you bunches ,

    Kat 😀😀😀

Yes it is! So just to confirm that you bake yours at 350 for about 8-9 minutes?

Also not everyones oven cooks the same ,so keep an eye on them during cook time . I have been watching my time more closely & turned my temp down since I started this project .Seems 7-9 mins was not long enough & 375 was a bit to high .

I find that 350 for 10 minutes for average size cutter is perfect for me. I do have some extra large & extra small shapes ,so I adjust accordingly .

I know I can't figure it out either. I just spoke to someone else and ask them if they have had any issues with the colored molds and they said no. Everything I'm doing seems to be the right thing, yet they still aren't coming out right.

I know I can't figure it out either. I ordered the premium beads and that's what I received as far as I can tell. Have you ever heard of anyone having problems with the painted ones?

Honestly I have never used any painted cutters ,seems to me this should not be the issue .

This is really a mystery to me ,as to why the beads are causing you these problems . I would ask for a refund or assistance with the co.

I have had such  great results so far & been thru many lbs already .

I hope you can get the problem solved ,it is discourageing to say the least
