  1. I love all your soaps. Very earthy~natural colors. I think your sheep soaps are adorable! Great job:thumbsup:
  2. "So Falling in Love, whose did you use? " I used Scent Works. 1 oz. p.p. Fragrance is very soft and faint. No problem with seizing or acceleration. HTH
  3. I started with a cardboard box. I lined it with contact paper for easy clean up, but still use freezer paper liner against the soap. Worked like a charm. I still use it when I want to make a log shaped soap.
  4. Great looking lip balm Brenda! That's another item on my list of things to do.
  5. Thank you very much everyone. You've all boosted my soap making confidence. I'm visiting my family in California in October and want to bring some for them. I've been making soap like crazy, so it's all cured in time for my trip. I mailed out 46 bars of soap last month for my family and they loved them. My brother's had no idea that I was making soap and were surprised they were handmade (by me!). Anyway, I'm planning on bringing one suitcase full of soaps, a few candles and B&B products. Wish me luck!
  6. Thank you for your kind comments. Amazing Grace is a very light soft floral perfume scent. It's hard to describe. Soaped at .9%. I like it, but not very strong scent. Colored with Select Shades.
  7. I've made about 17 batches of CP soap in the last 2 months. Here are a few of them. Thanks for looking! FYI: The Rose Petal (BCS) is my first re-batch. This baby seized on me badly. It looked like pink cottage cheese in the mold and of course it was the one time I decided to add dried rose petals to the batch. I sat there for 1/2 hour picking brown ugly rose petals out of the soap, then threw it in the oven for and hour and a half to remelt, smooched it back into the mold and it seem to be ok.
  8. I read this on their website. HTH NOTE: You always want to BLEND the color in a separate container FIRST! Never put the parts into your product and then mix in! IT WON'T WORK CORRECTLY! NOTE: You also always want to blend a little more color than you will need. It is always advisable to make more in case you want to tweak the color of your product.
  9. I love looking at your soaps. They are very unique and delicate. I would almost hate to use them, because they are so pretty. As far as CP goes, I think most people are nervous at first, but you have to jump in and do it. Study, get yourself a good recipe, take safety precautions when working with lye and you'll be fine.
  10. It kinda looks like the cotton ball holder that I have in one of my bathrooms. I think I got it at Linens & Things in the bathroom accesories department. Just an idea. HTH
  11. Those look great! Makes me wanna give them a try!
  12. Those are some beautifully carved candles Michael! You should be very proud. Great Job!
  13. Thanks for the recipe Brenda. I'll have to give it a try. Your soap looks beautiful, once again!
  14. I think your candles look GREAT! You have a nice variety of shapes and very pretty colors.
  15. Everything looks fantastic. You've been very busy!
  16. I've done it a few ways and they've all worked for me. First, I started mixing my pigment with some Vit E Oil, then I tried glycerin and now I just take out some of my mixed oils, maybe a tablespoon, and put it in a 16 oz. cup measuring cup, I add my pigment to it and whisk it till there are no more lumps. After my oils and lye are at a slight trace I pour some of my mixture into the measuring cup with my color and whisk again till completely combined. Then I use that to swirl with. I have some of my soaps posted in the B&B Gallery if you'd like to look. Keep trying and you'll find what works best for you. Hope that made sense and helps you.
  17. It's looks great. Can't wait to see it all set up. Good Luck!
  18. Very pretty and I can almost smell it! Can't wait to see it cut.
  19. It's funny that most people like the blue and black soap best. I had just got those 2 colors and wanted to try them and my DH said "Why don't you use them together?" I wasn't crazy about the idea, because to me the colors don't really match the scent, but I did it anyways. So I guess, I have to give credit for that bar. I got the colors at MMS. Ultramarine Blue, Black Onyx, and the purple is Lavender Fields Hope that helps and thanks for the compliments
  20. Very pretty colors, your soaps always look beautiful.
  21. I make candles too and it's sad to say, but I've only poured 2 candles in the last 2 months. Recently, I've been researching body butters and other B&B products. LORDI HELP ME! I think I'm in real deep now. I just got my order of Select Shades 8 pack today and I'm excited to try some new colors for my soaps. Guess I'll be soapin tomorrow!
