  3. Hey - I just noticed I am now called a "wax drip" - should I be offended? lol Heather
  4. I always add mine hot - I use pure soy... and the comment about the candle nose - thats the truth! I always pour my candles in twos and give one out to my sister - who has a ranch style house she her house her harder to scent.. Heather
  5. Well you didnt state what kind of wax you are using - but I use pure soy and I found it best to wait a good 12 hrs between layers.. Heather
  6. I dont agree - It depends on the individual oils yes and the wicking... you can go as high in the amount of oil as you need to.. TEST TEST TEST Regarding the Connies Candles - which was your original question.. No I have never even heard of them... Heather
  7. I dont know - but I have always just preferred regular teailght/tart warmers.. But if you are using a votive/pillar type blend, that will require a higher temp.. Heather
  8. Well Brian - I guess we will still wonder... lol - I guess noone wants to reply.. Heather
  9. LOL I am in Cleveland OH .. so I am constantly battling some kind of weather issue while making my candles - humidity in the summer is crazy on my jars... Heather
  10. Those are beautiful! I only make container candles.. I can only imagine how much work you did.. Are the pictures embedded in the wax?? I have never seen candles like that before.. Heather
  11. Meridith I was just going to say the same company - they usually have the unusual scents... I work right down the road from them - so shipping from there I have never tried. Heather
  12. I love buying bags of those at craft shows. People love mixed bags as samples... Or call it a mystery bag - thats even better - I sell bags of tarts that I want to get rid of and call it mystery lot - they love it!! Heather
  13. I reuse my jars all the time... For jars that arent mine and I want the wick out, I squirt a little dish soap in them, pour a little boiling water in it - let sit overnight.. Take a long handled teaspoon and use it as a pry to pop that baby out.. then rinse really good and toss in the dishwasher.. Then wick it and reuse.. Heather
  14. Maybe I missed it - but did you mention the type of wax you are using?? Heather
  15. Again - I mentioned this before - I use a blow dryer - in the winter though, while I am making up the wax, I leave my box of jars by the heater vent in my kitchen.. Heather
  16. I definately feel better about my wicking capabilities - Thanks for the photo.. Heather
  17. I only use a tablespoon per lb of wax.. too much more in my pure soy - seems to make it crack - i do notice from testing - the wick isnt as flickery and its a nice slower burn - but not slow enough to drown it out.. Also - the tarts came out beautifully with no frosting - since I dont like to add anything to my soy for that.. Heather
  18. I personally like the Carrot Cake at www.candlesupplys.us - and actually thats my scent of the month this month - Customers love it! Heather
  19. My current supplier is out my eco soya pure soy that I LOVE !!! But a friend has some of this Natures Garden 100% Soy Wax - has any of you tried that?? Heather
  20. How long do you guys/gals let your soy candles cure for? Does that same rule apply to your tarts? Just curious.. Heather
  21. Vicky - I was going to say that as well - I was taught that when I first started about how every bean is different just like a coffee bean.. However, I have noticed if soy is stored in certain packaging - it does carry that odor as well - especially bought in 1 lb packaging... Heather
  22. I was going to suggest spraying them too with the linen base - Portia - I have a friend who dips them in scented wax - very nice! Heather
  23. Well - to answer the 1st question - I only use smooth sided jelly jars (circular - not square - Hex jars are the worst for pure soy - yikes! I couldnt get a melt pool when I first started years ago with those for anything.. I only use HTP wicks for my pure soy candles.. HTP105s is where I would start with an 8 oz jelly jar.. Heather
  24. I use the 3x4 zip close bags.. Customers love them because they can break the tarts up and still store the rest.. Heather
