  1. For wrapping tarts polypropylene is much better but it needs to be secured. FO's and baggies don't play well for direct contact but would do OK as a cover. Polypropylene is much clearer than a baggie. JoyD
  2. What material is the shrinkwrap? PVC? Do you want to be able to smell the product after wrapping? JoyD
  3. I plan on it. I just have a ton of details to work out first. JoyD
  4. The registration link is finally up. It's at the very bottom of the page in small print so it's kind of hard to see. Here's the link: http://www.txsoapmakers.org/meetings/upcoming.php Be sure you drop me a PM so I can make sure everyone knows who else is there. Rachel and I are registration this year. JoyD
  5. I am not sure. I would imagine. If not, I'm sure some of us more friendly types could make arrangements to get you. I think I might be flying in from Boise, I plan on doing the IGCA convention first. I'll be there sometime Friday. I will have to see if I can meet up with Rachel in Dallas and ride down or not. JoyD
  6. Don't forget to let me know who all is coming from here so I can make it a point to get your name tags correct. Rachel and I are registration. JoyD
  7. It depends on the state you are in. In Texas shipping is a taxable item and if you live here you have to pay it. JoyD
  8. The convention location will be one of four cities. The circuit around the state is 2007 Houston, 2008 Austin, 2009 Dallas/Fort Worth and 2010 San Antonio. In the past the decision was made a year in advance based on proposals submitted by members. I'm glad the cities have been determined in advance so it's easier to make plans. JoyD
  9. While the pictures all looked so beautiful, it appears that it was in need of updating and other renovations. It appears that $$$ was a major issue. It appears that they also owed in excess of 100K in occupancy taxes as well. JoyD
  10. The hotel has closed so another spot is going to have to be selected. It will be in the Houston area since it makes a circuit. JoyD
  11. Art at National Shrink Wrap has prints. I have several of them here and they are very nice. He'll go out of his way to help you. JoyD
  12. You all need to make sure to come to my demo... JoyD
  13. It won't suck any fragrance out. I have some 4 year old soap that's as fragrant and the day I wrapped it. JoyD
  14. Best bet for wrapping scented items is Polyolefin. JoyD
  15. I really like LS. I live in the DFW area so they are a short trip away for me. I have always had good service from them and I do use some of their fragrances with no problems. JoyD
  16. I disassemble it and shrinkwrap the parts. I don't heat it until it's reassembled. I've gotten to the point where I use Sams Wrap on the bottom. I can slide the soap off on the wrap and unmold sooner. I pour at almost a water like trace and they don't leak. Edited to add that I've done cpop with the shrink. JoyD
  17. I like the molds from http://sweetprairiesoap.com I shrinkwrap them and it lasts for a great many batches. She also has the Soap Doctor, a planer, that is adjustable. JoyD
  18. I have them packed in 4 oz packets. I have pretty much one of every color ready to go. I hope that's enough to take. I can't think of anything else. JoyD
  19. I'm getting ready to leave and all I can think of to take is some chunks. I do have some flourescents so that might be a tad different. They're pretty lightly colored though. Maybe I should pack in the black light too? JoyD
  20. We're in the Dallas area, count us in! I didn't get to see hardly anyone. I was so tired and stressed. JoyD
  21. You guys had such a good time. There was so much laughter from your area that I think it made everyone have a better time. JoyD
