  1. Hello...I am looking for 3 1/2" apothocary jars with thicker glass. I have been searching and finding only the thin walled ones. I use soy and need to double wick. I would like to prevent the glass from becoming too hot and possibly breaking should people not follow the warning labels. I know such a thing exists because I bought a handmade candle from a candlemaker like this about a year ago and the glass was nice and thick. Any advice on who supplies these would be appreciated. Joanna
  2. You will find lots of great information and people here. I'm also new to the board and have learned tons! Totally Addicted!
  3. Wow these are some spendy scents. Are you able to use less f/o when using this brand? I would love to try them especially if I could use less. They seem to have some unique scents.
  4. I have never weighed the wax after mixing the 115 and 125. I have a small scale. Have you tested for burning yet. I really like this mix 50% 115 and 50% 125 with about 2% beeswax. I did a test with just 115, just 125 and the 115/125 mix and preferred the mix. The 115 alone seemed too viscous, and the 125 seemed to burn too fast for my liking. The mix really burns nice and slow with the beeswax added. I'm not sure what is changing with the weight for you, but this mixture is what I prefer in my candles. HTH
  5. http://www.cierracandles.com/packaging.aspxered An answer to my own question. This appears to be a reasonable site.
  6. Where do you store your votives? Do they make containers to store them so they don't get chipped or messed up? I was thinking of putting them in shoe boxes but I was wondering if anyone has a better idea. Thanks!
  7. :smiley2: My wick pins are from KY as well. They work nice and seem sturdy. I also like how they cover the entire bottom of the votive mold. HTH
  8. Does anyone know what causes the heaviness in fragrance oils? I have worked my self up to about 25 scents now and cinnamon is the heaviest and most difficult to wick. Are all cinnamons this way? What fragrance oils do you all struggle with when it comes to wicking? Thanks!
  9. I wonder if you are heating the wax too hot. I use a couple different KY waxes and the labels suggest heating to about 175. I have heard that 200 is too hot for soy. I have however not used KY's puresoy...maybe it is different. HTH.
  10. I didn't have to do an extra click to get to your website. I also have DSL and it loaded really fast for me. Not sure what that was about. I like the layout. I do however agree that the baskets should have more details and the spelling needs editing. I'm new to candle-making and pretty far from having a website...so good luck! It must be very exciting! Hope to have a site myself someday...if I don't burn the house down first! Just Kidding!
  11. We all need support when things get tough...hope you are doing better soon.
  12. I also use soy, and a blow dryer works wonders for the tops of my candles!
  13. I use HTP's too! I never noticed the "v" thing. Great advice! Thanks!
