  1. Ok Fire & Ice, I'm going to take that tip. Is there a particular temp I should try for the repour? DiDi
  2. No I don't have a picture to show but I am using the standard votive cups. Thanks DiDi
  3. Thank you guys for your tips. I took your advice and ordered some. DiDi
  4. Hello everybody, I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of purchasing votive wick pins that cover the entire bottom of the votive cup. The ones that I have do not so it's still possible for me to get crooked wicks if I don't eyeball it just right. And I'm damn near legally blind so that's a challenge. DiDi
  5. Hello chandlers, I was wondering if any of you know where I can purchase votive wick pins that cover the entire bottom of the votive cup. The ones I have don't cover the entire bottom so it's still possible for me to get crooked wicks if I don't eyeball it just right, and I'm damn near legally blind so that's a challenge. I need some that I just drop in and I'm covered. TIA DiDi
  6. Hi you guys, I'm DiDi from Southern Cali. I've been working predominantly with parafin for about 8 years now but I'm brand new to soy. I've done container soys for a few years but have just moved into others. I'm a native to the southeast but have been in California for 5 years now. Candles and soap is what I do to unwind as I'm also a Forensics doctoral student. Yep, I'm killing myself to be Dr. DiDi. Can anybody say intense? Just about as intense as getting perfect tops on these soy votives right now! Ahhhhhh,,,,,, (In my Scarlet O'hara voice) I need a friend....... DiDi
  7. Hi there Fire & Ice, I've been looking at some of your posts, and look I've got you for one myself. I'm totally new to this wax but not to candlemaking, so it looks like from your post I'll need to do a repour for a great finish. Do I need to follow any particular specifications when I do the repour? Right now I heat up to about 190 and I pour at about 170. In parafin, a repour in votives requires a hotter temp than the first pour for it to work. Is that the case with these? I like this wax but those damn cracks are a killer. TIA DiDi
  8. Any of you using this wax? I need help with achieving smooth tops on my votives and I sometimes have problems with them releasing from the mold. I'm new to this wax but I'm trying it out because I can purchase it locally. Any help or advice would be appreciated. DiDi Pasadena, CA
