    yes, lye was an ingredient. lye is what turns the ingredients into soap. no lye, no soap. the lye does its job and leaves. there are a few cases when the lye stays. not mixing your soap well enough, lye pockets, or using too much lye in your recipe, for examples.

    that is probably a straight paraffin. i prefer additives, so it will hold fo and to avoid the seeping. this is a good start. http://www.candletech.com/basicinstructions.htm votives make a great start.

    no, florida soy solutions never went by the name of cape coral. florida soy solutions and cape coral have no ties at all. missy owned missys candles. missy divorced and her husband dan got the business. he moved to florida and named his supply business cape coral, which is now out of business. corrected my spelling mess.

    i would add lavender for sure, and something manly like cool water, obsession.

    glass or plastic containers work very good. to keep the scent in tact, i only use plastics embossed with pp5 or hdpe2.

    imo, no its not the nature of double wicking. no matter if you have 1 or 2 wicks in your container, it should burn all the way down. if it does not burn all the way down, then you need to try different wicks until you achieve the burn you want.

    i have. yes the oils i bought are very good. most of the oils are the enchanted lights brand. the owner quit selling supplies and focused on her candle sales. not long after, she decided to sell supplies again. she ships super quick.

    what temp was your wax when you added your fo? what temp was your wax when you poured? about how long do you stir? where did the fo come from? you added 1 oz fo per # of wax?

    i pour 4625 too. i pour between 190 -195 and always have shiny pillars using my alum molds. i do not use a water bath, i let it cool at room temperature.

    i used the daisy lids for a couple of years with no problem at all. it was a pain to remove the lid for my second pour. my wick was perfectly centered every time. i used a binder clip on top of the lid to hold the wick in place.

    when using polysorbate with fos, some will cloud and some will stay clear, that is normal. some people package their sprays in colored or alum spray bottles so you cant see the cloudy mixture. some only use fos that stay clear when mixed. linen spray recipe 8 oz distilled water 3 oz witch hazel preserative of choice, following the manuf recommendations 3% fo for linen spray** when i tested my fos, most do pretty good, a few did not do well for me. **when making a room spray, you decide how much fo to use by testing** you have to shake before you spray each time.

    i like the witch hazel, water and preserative recipe the best. i use cyclo with some things but not a room or linen spray. i tried the polysorbate and didnt care for it. i have not tried the caprol. how much fo are you using?

    i dont like the ones with the raised center either. it takes too much wax to keep the center submerged. they do work really good with water and oil.
