  1. What I do is fill the bottom the basket with tissue paper or whatever and use those little glue dots (the ones used to stick the wick to the container) and attach the products to the tissue paper, basket or each other with them. This way you can position them however you want to without the smaller items falling down out of sight. It also helps TONS with wrapping because the products won't get jolted around when I'm turning the basket to wrap it. Also, with shrink wrap bags, I put the basket in with the top of the bag open, then I tape that over the handle of the basket (if there is one) and shrink wrap it from there. It's usually pretty even and never looks bulky. Hope that helps!
  2. I am very disappointed (aside from Peak's and Just Scent) I feel like no company I deal with has good customer service anymore! In the beginning of December I ordered about 20 samples to test from a large company that is known for their perfume/cologne dupes. So a week goes by, and I don't get an invoice to pay for them and I found that odd, so I sent an email to the girl who received the order. I got no response, sent another email. Then I called her a week before Christmas and she said that she'd get me the invoice the Tuesday after Christmas...well, that day came and went- STILL no invoice...and I really needed the oils to test for the new line I was working on. So I called and left messages for her THREE more times and sent more emails- NOTHING. I finally emailed the president of the company AND called him and he tells me that they were very busy towards the end of the year and didn't have time to get samples out because that wasn't a priority. First of all, I order a LOT of FO...maybe not as much as some larger companies, but still! And even if they didn't have the time to send them out, they could have at the VERY LEAST called me or emailed me to let me know there would be a delay because they were swamped. What should I do? I don't know if I even want to deal with this company now after waiting over a MONTH just for an invoice! And these aren't cheap samples- they weren't being sent out for free. They were a bit on the pricey side, and I just wanted to pay for them! My husband thinks they should give me half my samples for free since I've been waiting so darn long for them...grrr...just makes me so happy for companies like Peak's and Just Scent!
  3. Oh!!!! I'm so excited!!! This is for the swap?!?! Yay!!!!! So glad I joined now! Maybe I'll come up with a better name once I smell it..but I still like Polka Power or whatever it was...lol
  4. How about for blue doing juniper breeze? I've found that to be quite unisex and it's a very clean, fresh scent.
  5. Sharon! I LOVE THAT SOAP!!! Is it M&P? How the heck did you do that??! You're becoming a soaping QUEEN! How about Polka Power! LOL...or Cuckoo for Fruit Loops...ha ha..I need sleep.....
  6. Ok, I'm trying CP for the first time tonight...what do you do when it siezes? Does it just become completely solid, and you can't pour it into the mold? Can you leave it in the container you were mixing it in? Does it sieze the second the Fo is put in, so that spot where you poured it has a concentration of FO and there's none anywhere else...I just would like to know what to do if this happens to me tonight! Thanks!!!!
  7. I have searched everywhere on this forum and can't find an answer to my question!! Can I use regular olive oil (like extra virgin found at the grocery store) for CPOP soap? I'm trying my very first batch tonight and can not find pomace at my store. And I'm not patient enough to order some and wait for it. Can I use coconut oil (fractionated) or SAO in its place if I can't use regular olive oil? Here's two of the recipes I was thinking of starting with if they're needed (I will be cutting the recipe down dramatically!) 24 oz. Canola Oil 18 oz. Coconut Oil 6 oz. Cocoa Butter 6 oz. Castor Oil 16 oz. Olive oil 9.8 oz. Lye 21-23 oz. Cold Water OR 72 oz. Olive Oil 12 oz. Coconut Oil 6 oz. Castor Oil 24-28 oz. Cold Water 12 oz. lye Thanks for your help!
  8. I make mine red- ya know, like love!
  9. Oh, the bag of peanuts is HUGE! It was the only size they had...and my husband HATES the stuff, so he throws out peanuts the second they enter our house..I had to convince him I really NEEDED these or these would be in the trash, too! And since I'm picking up the Peak's order, they don't use peanuts And I really don't want to run the risk that someone's bottles break because I was too cheap to buy some peanuts. I wish I didn't have to buy the industrial size bag of them, but our office max said they'd be getting them the end of the month (which was too late) and the only other place he knew of that sold them was our UPS store. And that was the only size they had. I did open a personal account through paypal, before I sent any invoices really...just one got sent with my other account, which I'm glad for, otherwise I wouldn't have realized the fee problem until too late!!! And so everything is rectified! Feel stupid now, but hey, I got scared!!! LOL...When almost everyone's order was over $150, the fees would have been well over my hostess fee!!! Thanks for all of your help everyone!!!! I appreciate it!
  10. Thanks so much guys!!! I really appreciate it!!
  11. That's the problem- I'm not. I'm only charging $3 and a LOT of people are having me ship through fedex and UPS...and I had to buy a thing of peanuts (which was $30 from the only place I could find them at.) So I read on paypal that if you have a personal account, you can't accept CC's OR debit cards (which are instant transfer, correct?) So what the heck can you accept with a personal account? Should I open one with my other email address for this co-op? I just really don't want to go into the negative because of this, ya know? Live and learn!
  12. I am sooo confused right now!! I'm running a co-op with Peak's and most everyone is paying with paypal instant transfer. I was reading on paypal that they charge 2.9% for EVERY transaction, not just CC transfers. I didn't factor that into people's orders, and I'm really worried I'm going to lose money on this co-op now. Is this true? Will they really charge me for each transaction? HELP!!! Waaaaahhh!!!
  13. I actually use food coloring for ones I'm using for family and myself...and I use the Crafter's Choice liquid water based colors from WSP for the stuff I'm selling. I've never used mica, but since it's oil based, I'm not sure if it would work too well. I'm not an expert though, so don't take my word on it!!!
  14. I don't think so- it may in the wax, though! It's more spicy with a definite "tea" smell underneath- that's just OOB, though. I'll let you know after I pour it what it truly smells like...it's SKIN safe, too, which I just noticed!!! I think that's awesome- a lot of people really are looking for more spicy B&B scents, but a lot of them aren't skin safe, so this is awesome! I'm very excited!
  15. I buy it a case at a time (4 gallons) and the shipping isn't too bad for like 40 lbs. worth of product. If you order lots of other little things with it, it may be bad because they don't package it all in one box- the shower gel is in a seperate box.
  16. OK, JUST got my oils from JS and I LOVE the chai!!! I haven't poured it yet, but on my initial smell OOB, it was very spicy and strong. I'll be testing tonight and let you know how it does (although I use comfort blend and a 50/50 blend for my testing.) So far, I've tried NG's chai, Tony's Chai and SOS's Vanilla Chai and Vanilla Spice Chai, and this one definitely beats out NG and Tony's (which is RARE for me!) HTH!!! Order some!!
  17. I use a 50/50 blend to test my scents and here are some of my opinions: Hyacinth Chula Orchid- I'm not a fan of florals, but this one had a really good throw. Sweet Berry Deelites- I love this! Very strong! Creme de la Creme- I like Peak's Creme Brulee better. Lavender Vanilla- Very good blend, equal amount of lavender & vanilla Cupcake- This smelled like those fake hostess cupcakes you buy at the store- I didn't like it much. Butter Cookie- This one was a bit weak for me. Buttercream Hazelnut Extraordinaire- I don't carry this one in my line, but I have some that I use for myself- I love it! Oxygen- I actually use this one for my rain scent...people LOVE it! Strawberry- Very sweet, pretty strong..doesn't smell like a "true" strawberry in my opinion. Hope that helps a bit!!!
  18. Just read the last part, and goddess sounds wonderful, too!!! And yes, we should feel like goddesses on our favorite day of the year! Pamper us!
  19. Hey Dallas- I'm in the votive swap and I would love to get an Angel Wings one!!!
  20. I LOVE the surplus stuff from WSP. It's their old suspension base that doesn't really suspend stuff...I think it's only like $12 or less a gallon, and a little goes a LONG way...plus, you can add tons of FO without the base getting watery! I love that about this base because I like my shower gel really, really highly scented (since I don't really wear perfume,) and every other base I tried became a water like consistency once I added more than the recommended amount of FO.
  21. No, actually, I've never had a problem with my banana nut bread (JS's) I'm testing Waterfall Mist from Tony's, Peak's Ocean and ICS's Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee and those are the ones that smell like they're burning...I'm also testing RE's Flannel Sheets and Peak's Patchouli, but those smell just fine. I really am starting to wonder if the wick may just be too big and that's causing it..hmmmmm
  22. Thanks so much! I've been checking out daystar, and they have some great sounding oils...I guess I'll have to give them a shot now!
  23. Like, got it too hot before pouring it? No I always pour at the same temp...even if it did get too hot, would it really have a burnt smell? I don't think I've ever done that, but it doesn't have the smell before the candle is burned...just while it is burning and afterwards..does that make sense? If I scorched the wax- would it make the candle smell before burning it as well? Thanks for the input!
  24. Anyone know where to get a good dupe of BBW's Kitchen Spice? My mom had a spray bottle of this stuff and I LOVE it!!! I've tested a bunch of Grandma's Kitchen scents, but they're not quite the same...anyone?
