  1. Ironic that you should ask as I have one buring right now and I can't stop thinking how great it is. It fills up my 1100 sq foot house in no time. It's an Aveda dupe, very Spa like. OOB it's strong but then it morphs into an even better (still strong) scent when lit. I got it from DayStar candles. This seems to be one of their most popular ones and I can see why. I absolutely love it. Beware: once you go to Daystar and read their descriptions you may end up buying more that you want. They are great with their marketing. Not that that's a bad thing because I have loved all my FO's from there.

And if you like mint, try Scented Bean's Refresh Mint. It's got a touch of mint but hell if I can describe the other fragrances in it. I would also catagorize it as a SPA scent. Very very unique and I love it. Not Eucalyptisy (is that a word?) or anything. I made some Refresh Mint and Bunchberry and Moss and they sold very fast here. I guess people want to de-stress in Seattle :)

    What does Shampure smell like?

    Sounds intriguing here!

    :)

  2. LMAO, that is funny. Grass, lime, flowers, coconut/pineapple don't make me think about lays, however if I use my imagination I think a cucumber would do it. hahahahahaha

I think you meant lei, the necklace made out of flowers in Hawaii. Just couldn't resist, sorry.

    Dirty Dirty Girl!!! ;)

  3. It's mió again! I am going to make my first BNL order and am eyeballing these for Soy candles:

Herbal Mist (man do I miss the BBW lotion)

    Olive Blossom

    Tranquil Tropics

    Coconut Bay

    Sage, Sweetgrass and Cedar

    Eucalyptus and Spearmint

Can you tell I love SPA and tropical types? Ha! Anyone use these? What's your opinion?

  4. I wonder if thats why people described it as a burnt rubber smell? Fresh coconut smells different than shredded sweetened coconut. My cart contents is growing and growing.... I definately picked up a Jamaca me Crazy.

OMG - I LOVE coconut milk!!! It is one of my absolute favorite scents...... and Peaks is the greatest, it doesn't have that too sweet undertone that other coconuts have. It's like you've just whacked open a coconut.......

I've also used the coconut banana blast, only not in Soy. It's pretty good!

  5. I don't think you'll hear many people complain about EZSoy (unless they are anti-Soy). It's pretty popular (and popular for a reason!). Are you curing them for a week? Also, I'd try using 1oz of FO's from Peaks, BitterCreek, Candle Cocoon, Just Scents, or the Scented Bean. They are tried and true and also loved by many. Look in the classified and you'll find samples for sale. The Scented Bean has a great sampler package as well. Try adding your FO at 170ish then stir stir stir. Cure for a week and then take a sniff.

  6. Hi Seattle,

If you mean the CB-30, I tested it. It is a very pretty wax and easy to use. But, it burned too fast for double wicking in the jars I use. It was a little hard to wick for me -- got weak flames a lot. However, I only tried zinc, LX's, HTP and I think I may have tried the ECO's in it.....

I like the CB3 but got some sinkholes which are really time consuming. I looked at Swan's website and they really tote this as a miracle wax so I got curious. I only use 9 oz mason's so I may have to give it a shot. They also say it already has all the additives which would also save me some testing. I have been using CD14's and they seem to work pretty good. I also use the Eco 10/12. They seem to work fine for the most part.

I have also resorted to repours out of sheer frustration. Poking holes seems to do nada.

Again, thanks again for your help.

  7. I use Calwax CB10 for my votives/pillars and found that I must poke relief holes. I poke the holes with a bamboo skewer after there has been a film developed on top then I do my re-pour (10 degrees hotter) after the candles have cooled completely.

If this thread is pertaining to container wax, then pardon my post as I have yet to start on containers although I just purchased a case of Calwax CB30 and anxiously waiting to begin my testing.

    Jeff

Did you ever test this wax? Is seem so tempting. Air pockets are driving me nuts. Let me know how it pours!

  8. My staples are Angel (people always compliment me on it), Karma by Lush (free spirits only please;) ) and Vanilla by BBW. I also have some patchouli by index that I wear when I know I'll be outside and not around lots of people. Oh and if I was rich, I'd shop exclusively at www.lacremebeauty.com If anything, check it out. The lady the owns it is wonderful. Its a small boutique with very specialized perfumes that you will not find at department stores. She is serious about her perfumes and quality!!!
