  1. I don't have any plans for a St. Patricks Day soap at this stage. It's selling very well. As a candle shop its great to have an extra few products like Soap and Jewellery to shop customers. I do sell online however my shop is my main focus at the moment. However I do complete orders on time and ship them off. Rainbow soap is selling very well atm. Kids love it.
  2. The boxes are just large candle jar boxes. Like these below and I just fold all the sides and and that locks it down. Print off the Be My Valentine sticker and stick it to the box and wrap it all up. http://www.naturalcandlesupply.com.au/Packaging/Candle-Making/Velino-Candle-Boxes/?pid=19260
  3. Another one I finished this morning. Champagne & Strawberries Designed for Valentine's day gift packs.
  4. Here are some more I have made with M&P. The double hearts are scented with Love Spell Green: Crisp Apple Rose Orange: French Pear
  5. I use a cheese slices and run it across the top of a 3cm wide soap bar which gives me a swirl. Then I place 5-6 swirls into a soap stick. Soap stick is just 5mm to 1cm square soap with 24cm long. When the loaf is cut each bar is different.
  6. OK, I used a simple kitchen chefs knife to cut this loaf which has worked better then the miter box. The cuts are smooth and sweet. Here are some photos of the slices and wrapped & labelled when finished.
  7. I finally made my first cut on the Black Raspberry Vanilla soap loaf.
  8. Here is a photo from the Lemon Zest I made a last week. The cut is not perfect as one of the slices is large then the other. But I am happy with the results it looks good to me.
  9. I got a miter box from Bunnings (Australia) the other day but the loaf keeps slipping and my cuts are small at one end and big at the other which I just can't sell.
  10. Here is the final of the remelt of "The Honeymoon" scented loaf.
  11. Yes I used rubbing alcohol before pouring - not enough this time. Will see how todays loaf worked
  12. Ok, this failed badly. It didn't hold together and as soon as I cut it the hearts fell out. I'm in the process of trying to use the soap again but for something different. Also my cutter is sliding and some soap bars or smaller and bigger then others. Im going to need to buy a good wire cutter.
  13. I started using my red hearts I posted before with some pink chucks with light purple soap around them melting the embeds a little bit. Then I added pink soap with white, purple and pink mica on top. Scent: The Honeymoon (one of my own mixed fragrances). Will post Monday morning with my results Have a great weekend everyone.
  14. I removed the Lemon Zest from the loaf mould. It looks pretty good so far. Going to cut it up on Monday morning and then will know more about each slice. Fingers crossed
  15. Thanks, I wrapped some rainbow soap up for my brothers kids. There so excited to get them.
  16. Hi all, i'm trying to expand my product range and some customers are asking for my custom fragrances in body sprays. I know the fragrances are body/soap safe. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would love to give this a try. Thanks.
  17. Sorry for all my posts. I'm just excited to make these and share as a first time soap maker. Making a new soap loaf today. Scented with Lemon Zest and more swirls, top part is lemon zest scented mica gold. Here are some photos - Will unpack tomorrow and post photos on Monday.
  18. 2nd Attempt. So i have been reading up about making soap swirls in a loaf and I think I got it right. Here is a photo of the top, will reveal the rest tomorrow (I hope). smile emoticonPink goats milk swirls with dyed red clear soap with white mica to make it sparkly. Scented with: Black Raspberry Vanilla.
  19. I finished my first non scented soap loaf. I thought it would be right to make the first try a rainbow soap. Here is how it came out - im yet to slice it as I don't have that tool yet. So I will just wrap it up and wait a few weeks.
  20. Some more photos. Lemon Myrtle batch of 10. Green Glycerine chunks on top with yellow Glycerine strips behind them to give a yellow/green feel. Then goats milk scented with Lemon Myrtle FO (2%). The hearts are Glycerine with red dye and white mica. Looks pretty nice for my first mica try.
  21. I received my first batch of Mica and glitters today and made some more hearts. Hopefully my wood and silicone loaf will arrive tomorrow and then I can start really making my soaps. I used some white mica in the red hearts I made today and they look so amazing, all shinny. I will post some photos tomorrow
  22. I used white because I had some bleeding issues with other embeds - pouring too hot. So using the white stopped that bleed. But I want to try Pink and orange swirl inside black soap.
  23. Personally I only use 2% FO for my melt and pour goats milk and clear soap. I feel it gives a strong but not over powering scent. I made some Lime, Basil and Mandarin soap using 2% and I can smell when I walk past the bathroom.
