  1. I need help naming a salve made with some of these main ingredients: Olive and grapeseed Oil infusion of chickweed, comfrey, plantain, st. john’s wort, lavender buds, Chamomile, calendula. Hemp seed oil, sweet almond oil, Vitamin E, Rosemary EO, Tea Tree Oil EO. I have previously made a 'hemp oil salve with Tea Tree Oil'. The ingedients were mostly the same but I want to make this one more of a lavender scent than tea tree oil, and the previous salve only had a few herbs infused this new one has many!!! This is meant to be a natural baby rash treatment but really it's uses are endless and I want that known in my name of the salve without saying 'all purpose salve'....... Any ideas? Please?? :highfive:
  2. I have to say, I'm not really one for melt and pour, but I really adore these soaps...................They are too cute........ Great job
  3. I noticed the same thing, I had a cut on my hand and 'oh boy' did it sting!!!!!!!!!!! I also noticed I nearly slid while getting out of the tub. It was very greasy. Although I sure loved the feeling once I was out and dried off.
  4. Wow, it all looks so awesome. All the different varieties of soaps and things. I don't quite understand how a swap works. I've heard people asking.......... I have swapped with people but not one big swap. I'd like to be a part of it next time..................!!!!
  5. Where Do You Get Pine Tar? I Have A Recipe But Don't Have A Clue Where To Get It
  6. Here in Canada, we use 'Parchment Paper' You get it at Walmart, and grocery stores
  7. I AM HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE AS WELL PICKING A NAME........... I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND IT TAKES THOUGHT AND THE RIGHT 'CATCH' TO IT. I WANT TO MAKE A WEBSITE BUT NEED TO KNOW A NAME FIRST FOR THE WEBSITE AND CAN'T START WITHOUT A NAME. I WILL CHECK BACK FOR MORE HELP AS WELL:highfive:
  8. My olive oil recipe is 90% olive oil, 10% castor oil It is beautiful and actually cures up quite quickly. Most castile soaps take longer to cure than 3 weeks. Good job on trying the olive oil soap though......Congrats
  9. I bought lots of the silver eyelet containers with a clear lid. I am looking of some ideas on what products to put in them. I made a salve (like polysporin), and solid perfume, but am lost on what else I could make in them....... What would you suggest?
  10. Does anyone know how to make a 'hard' fragrance perfume, to put in little containers? I don't even know where to start. I made salves and it was great but I don't know how to make a hard fragrance............. Any ideas? Or recipes?
  11. I like it!! Did you design this website yourself? I am looking to design a website but don't know where to start. I like the look of the website.... Can you give me the name of where to start with this company? Is it costly? Thanks
  12. I made my own mold with wood from Home Depot, that way you can customize it to whatever length, height, width you want your soaps to be. Plus I find the wood really insulates it well without having to use blankets.......I just put it in the oven for 24 hours and put the oven light on....for that little bit of heat........Works great
  13. I am wondering where I could get some herbs for infusing? Does anyone on this message board sell any? Or know where is a reliable place that you have used before? I am looking for: plantain yarrow Chickweed Comfrey Horse Chestnut Oatstraw Thankyou
  14. Beautiful! I love that green color! Great swirls, girl!
  15. I am searching for Canadian web hosting, or where I would get started to get a website up and running for selling soaps. I am not a business but just would like to have soaps online for people to see the website and possibly purchase from me, instead of me emailing newsletters to their email addresses. I would like to be able to add everything myself, I just need a website and don't even know where to start. I would like to have a check out, but all my orders would be local so paypal and such would not have to be needed. Thanks
  16. So your soap riced......... Then you rebatched.......which means you did exactly what? How long after the soap was poured into the mold, did you chop it up into pieces and make new soap?
  17. I made a batch of soap today, and something strange happened that has never happened before. When I was just about to pour it in the mold, it got stiff and chunky. I suppose it could be two things. First off a new FO. Peach & Pear OR The lye and water mixture which I made up 3 days ago.......... Any ideas?
  18. They are gorgeous. You make beautiful soaps!
  19. Thankyou! I'm going to try it in a few days...... I just have to come up with some scents to go with eachother.....
  20. I know what wil happen if I try to make a 2 or more layered bar.... The first layer won't be firm enough and the soap will pour down and mix with the bottom layer...... Did you put the soap in the oven for a bit while you were making the second layer? Would you say you poured it an hour later? Sorry about the questions...... I just want it to work out for me!
  21. They look quite yummy actually..........Good job! One quick tip, I didn't realize til I had so much soap on my shelf I had no more room to put more.......... CURE YOUR SOAP WITH THE SOAPS STANDING STRAIGHT UP....IT WILL GIVE YOU SO MUCH MORE ROOM!
  22. If you notice some of my posts in the gallery, I have a wavy cutter as well and cut the top with a wavy cutter. I cut my bars at 3/4 inch but they are quite tall. If there are expensive ingredients, such as hemp oil, I usually don't make a full batch but still cut at 3/4 inch.
  23. Thanks everyone for your positive comments! I thought you'd like it! I bought these at Michael's......They have different size wood pieces. Forgot to mention I glued 2 together to make it sturdier, and for the hole I drilled to go deeper. The wood pieces come to about 3-5 to a bag and the wood handles come to 2 to a bag.... Hearts would be perfect for Valentine's Day!!! You really can't beat the price.........It's just a simple stamp, nothing fancy...but only you will know that!
  24. Is this cold process soap? How long did you leave it after the first batch was poured before you added the second layer? It looks great!!!!
  25. The soap was actually too soft. I should have left it another half day before I cut it, but I was so anxious. I hit the top with a hammer a few times...it was easy as pie. Thanks for your positive responses.
