  1. Here is some of my hard earned work, although I'm still working on FO strength. We have Black Cherry Soy, Cinnamon Bun, and Vanilla combos.
  2. Here are my first marbles. The one in the flower pot looked much better before I heat gunned it to get the air bubbles off the side. I am happy with it though for the first try. ....Chris Oops, sorry about the size....
  3. WOW!!! is about all I can say. You've given me something to strive for. I'm pumped now. I finished up my first marble today. I hope mine look like yours one day.
  4. Ok, so I'm still perturbed over this afternoon, however I did just receive a suprise call. Apparently the girl that I spoke with this afternoon went to her supervisor, Susan, and felt that the conversation did not go the right way. Susan called and wanted to rectify. I told her all of my complaints. She is issuing a call tag for the vanilla FO and is sending a replacement. She is going to take care of the damaged tins and is also researching the liquid dye issue. She committed to calling me monday afternoon with her findings. She was very apologetic and wanted to make me happy. Again still bothered by the way things shook out, but glad that she stepped up to the plate and called to find out what could be done. So I guess take everything you've been reading from everyone on Candlewic and make your own judgment call. I may order a couple of things in the future if I can't find better pricing, however it won't be FO's. Chris
  5. Thanks Gerrie, was contemplating that very thing. I think I will let him know how I feel. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the support guys! I got my $13 credit for shipping. And I have my tins that have mismatched color dented lids, liquid dye that almost all are clogged in the dropper from first attempt to use, some weak FO, one FO that has a ton of solidified whatever in the bottom that broken up into chunks...this list goes on! Thanks though....it actually does help having sympathy. I think I'll try peaks and BC. I guess cheaper isn't always better! Chris
  7. My Turn To VENT! Ok, so I've purchased most of my stuff from Candlewic....about $1500 worth. I've had several issues with product not meeting my expectations or the quality it should. I called today since I was overcharged on shipping. She offered to credit my card or apply it to my next order. I said I'd take the credit since I might not order from them anymore due to some product issues. She never commented or asked what was wrong, just processed the credit. I asked her about her lack of concern. She said, "well I'm not going to beg you to buy from us again if that's what you want!" I said no, I'm just looking for a company that will care and ask what's wrong and try to rectify the problem. She didn't care! She didn't want to know what I was unhappy with. I told her that I guess I'll be looking for another company to deal with and she said ok and have a nice day! Now I'm stuck with all of this product from them that I don't even want to use now thanks to the bad taste left in my mouth from this. It's so frustrating. I was really impressed with them up front, now not so much. Thanks for letting me vent. Chris
  8. Hey group.....I'd like to buy a votive or two from someone on here that has a great vanilla. I'm having trouble getting what I feel is a good throw from them. I guess I'd like to sample someone elses that has a good throw just for comparison sake. I don't want to sell a weak votive and get a bad name for myself. I keep hearing about the single votive that fills the room when it's not lit. Mine definitely don't do this. Anybody up for helping out? Thanks, Chris
  9. I've been reading the posts on the respirators...maybe I should get one. I've been pouring more lately, and even though I'm fairly new to this, I've been having some different feelings in my chest when I breath. Thank you all for these posts!
  10. I used 1 drop liquid white for 1-2 oz wax.
  11. It could just be me not doing something right.....maybe I used too much white.
  12. Ok, as you can tell I have the day off today...thus all of the posts from me. So I made some votives and capped the top 1/4 inch or so with scented white wax. My wick is being choked out by the white. Is there anything I can do to top off the candles with a cream fragrance...ya know, like peaches n cream, without choking out the wick? Thanks
  13. Ok CandleKitty, this is not fun! Not only did I make a huge mess and waste swirl wax that will be remelted into a single color, but how does it work out? I poured it in the votive mold and it has a rough ugly top. How do you get it smooth? How do you get the tart tops smooth?
  14. Thank you CandleKitty! You're awesome to respond while you are sick. I'm going to go try it right now.
  15. So most of my dyes work well. However, I have problems with Ivory. No matter how hot my wax is, when I put the dye in it's like it solidifies. I stir stir stir stir stir and stir some more and I have little Ivory flecks that swim around in my wax. I've tried warming the dye first and that doesn't help. Does anyone else in here have that kind of trouble with any of their liquid dyes? Chris
  16. Ok, let's say that I wanted to make swirl votives and containers...would I make them in a similar way to the marble candles? What would the pro's on here suggest? Thanks, Chris
  17. All the wax I use is from Candlewic. However that's not saying much since I'm still testing it. I'm fairly satisfied with most of what I've ordered. I figure what hasn't worked has been my fault since I'm a newbie. Chris I reread and I really didn't help too much!
  18. thank you! makes me scratch my head as to why they would make a concave with no wick hole! Chris
  19. so, I have some concave pillar molds without a wick hole. using a wickpin alters the concave....any other methods out there? Thanks, Chris
  20. Hi, I only use the clear tealight cups. I don't glue or tack the wicks down. I pour the wax and wait to see a slight bit of cooling film on top and then put the wick in. The slight film from the top sticks to the wick tab and holds it in place. Chris however, I'm far from being an expert or doing things the right way!
  21. Thank you everyone! This board is great. Deb - how many votives? 15 completed and wax prepped for about another 30 maybe. I was playing around with different levels of vybar 343 and stearic. Nothing is really working. Chris
