I pulled out the HTP1212 and put in an HTP105. I started it at 10:00 today, it is now 12:00 and I've got a small melt pool accross the top. So far so good. I also poured some tins.
Tootie The other day I burned one of mine with an HTP1212. Full melt pool after 2.5 hours and I kept it lit for about 3.5 hours. The 2nd day the melt pool was about 1.5 inches so it seems that wick is a little big for the 2nd burn. But the HTP105 didn't work well at all for me. I've got a bunch of HTP wicks and CD wicks. Any suggestions? Also, what would you suggest for a 6 oz tin? I don't have any ECO wicks. I really want to get this wax to work since I can get it locally Thanks
I do this too, but I also put mine in the fridge after the preservative. It firms up nicely and I keep this in a big container. Then when I need to make a scrub I take out the needed amount, add the FO, sugar and color.
Yes that is a big wick but I did try an HTP105 and it didn't get a full melt pool after a couple hours. I even tried a CD12 and that didn't work that well. I don't use color and I scented it at 8% as well. With the HTP105 no hot throw, with the HTP1212 I get a pretty good throw, not as good as I would like and not as good as with parafin. I use HTP 73 or HTP83 with parafin in that jar
I bought both presto pots at thrift stores for about $5 each. I told them that if they trash them, no big loss, I could find another one! I usually use a ladel but this is going to be nice. And thanks for the tip about making sure it's closed. That sounds like something I would to!
I've started testing with this. I can get it locally, no shipping! On the 8 oz square masons I "think" I used HTP1212 (can't get up right now to check my notes). Full melt pool in 2 hours, clean burn all the way down the sides.
I have 2 presto pots, and for Mother's Day my husband and son put spigots on them I can't wait to try them out, however I had foot surgery on Friday so it's going to have to wait.
It's the white one from Wal Mart, I think that's the same kind. I put it in the freezer a bit then I've got a wooden dowel that's the same size, push a little on one end and they pop right out
Thanks. Yes I "did" print them out myself for the longest time. Then I went to the printing store and had them do it. I figured the cost was worth it because I was always running out of green and yellow! It took me a LONG time to make that box.
