Hello everyone! I wasn't here such a long time... I see that this forum is changing... for better, and many new users came I am looking for some information about using ceresine in candles. Does anybody know this specific? In my country we don't have so many different, ready to pour wax and that is why we all the time create our own recipes for candles. Now we are at the stage of creating a new formula of wax for container candles. We don't want heating the glass container, we would like to pour without that. And we would like to obtain a smooth surface without any bubbles and jumplines... Does anyone has some idea how to achieve that?

Hello, does anybody know how to make good metallic rustic candles? Different colors, not only gold and silver. Should we use white rustic and different lacquer or should we use dayed rustic and then use lacquer?

How to reduce paraffin shrinkage?
Kaczor replied to wilkas's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
I am from Poland. We have many types of straight paraffin wax. We make from them our own recipes. But for rustic candles we have paraffin wax from Israel. I don't know how many candles you do, but if you want I can send you ie. 25kg, I've checked the cost of transport - 17eur. -
How to reduce paraffin shrinkage?
Kaczor replied to wilkas's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
When you poke your candle, use heat gun for few seconds and then re-pour. It helps to it will combine new layers and you won't see any differences. Another advice is that you shouldn't use microcrystaline paraffin because your shrink will be bigger. Of course the top of the molds is the bottom of the candles. You can pour higher and after removed from the mold, you can cut it how much you need. In my opinion vybar doesn't change shrinking. ps. We used P2 but it wasn't enough good for us -
Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll try with ring for cake. I'll give you know how did it go and share with my experience

Does anyone know how to call this type of candle and how to do it? http://geocandles.com/geometricCategory.html

In my opinion, you should have your own e-shop, and FB use for advertisement. Also good place to show others your products is ebay. Of course, there you have to pay commission, but it's worth to be there. Maybe, the most important is to have very, very... good quality photo. This is the first step to sell via Internet Sorry for my language

This is a big chemical company. They don't sell raw materials for candles. I called to them to ask.... They told me, that especial for me will bring 10kg. So, I even don't know from where that inhibitor UV will be.
-
Thanks! You were very helpful for me. I've already found supplier who has Inhibitor UV. If I do candles with it, I'll give you know about the effects. I had problems with white coffee candles.

Does anyone use UV Inhibitors? I'd like to use UV Inhibitors to my candles. Do you know any company which sell this kind of products in Europe?

Thanks, I will try to pour candles in the morning, and in the afternoon I'll try pull them out from molds and heat I use metal molds. Is this correct?

Hi, I have problem with my coffee candles. My step by step: I take mold, put pillar candle inside, put grains of coffee around and pour with colored and scented paraffin wax. Next day I pull out of the mold. It is almost ready. Then I take heat gun and when I finish, my candle crack. We use our own recipe for paraffin wax, we leave candles in very cold room till next day

I am from Poland. We don't make this kind of candles but if you want I can make an offer for you. We use many different wax to make our candles.
-
@Georgia - cool slower - it could be a good way to resolve this problem
-
For me there are two ways: 1. Make rustic candles - pour at lower temperatures 2. Add vybar - color will be smoother without any defects
-
In my opinion, you should pour the containers with higher wax temperature. Another way, try to heat the containers before you pour the wax. Sometimes I had the same problem when my FO was from bad delivery.
-
Why we shouldn't heat the sides after cooled ?? We do it in that way, and it help us to achieve smooth look. Why it's wrong?

@Old Crab - I can write you how it looks in Poland. We sell both - 100% paraffin candles and 100% stearic candles. Nowdays, cost of them are almost the same, maybe stearic is a bit lower than paraffin wax. For example: Stearic ~1lb=0,65$, Paraffin ~1lb=0,78$ 1. Stearic is harder so we have to use stronger wicks - that's why they burn less. Candles form stearic have totally different look f.e http://www.e-kalia.pl/en/candles/scented-candles-in-glass/candle-in-the-glass---stearin--green-apple-3pcs.html We sell them, but it is a very small percentage compare to the rest. In my country people buy candles from paraffin or beeswax. 2. Water bath - simply, we do it to make our production faster

@Heaven Scent Candles - I've been starting with palm candles like you from 3 weeks I'm still looking my recipe to have nice scent. I pour my glass jar with it

Problem with candles in a glass
Kaczor replied to Kaczor's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
Judy, have you ever tried to use hot-melt glue to hold your paraffin in the glass ? -
I make molds for rustic candles myself. And I'm thinking how thin or thick should have wall of the mold /0,0394in, 0,1181in, 0,1968in.../ or it doesn't matter :undecided

Paraffin wax - rustic and hurricanel candles
Kaczor replied to Kaczor's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
Thanks for your advice. My first rustic candles are on the picture. I pure them in 165F. I think, in this kind of paraffin is the optimal temperature. Also, I add some % of vybar. Please, tell me which candle in your opinion is the best looking?
