  1. Well After what seems Like an eternity, I have finished pouring my 29th scent this evening....All for tomorrows show! I got ahold of the Jar Store today and they are sending me some samples so that I can begin testing Containers this next week. I will also be starting to prepare for another show the first weekend in December. So Sunday is going to be another busy day and to top that off, I also need to work on our web site and try to get that up and going soon! Anyone wanna help????? Jeff
  2. I use Calwax CB10 for my votives/pillars and found that I must poke relief holes. I poke the holes with a bamboo skewer after there has been a film developed on top then I do my re-pour (10 degrees hotter) after the candles have cooled completely. If this thread is pertaining to container wax, then pardon my post as I have yet to start on containers although I just purchased a case of Calwax CB30 and anxiously waiting to begin my testing. Jeff
  3. I am still pretty new to all of this, but I like the way you can tote around all of your candles. I have a couple of questions however. First of all are the tins wicked? and second, do you use a container wax for the tins or the wax that you normally use ( for me that would be a pillar/votive wax Calwax CB10) Jeff
  4. Colleen, You are going to recieve alot of opinions on the type of wax. Me personally, I use Calwax CB10 for my votives/pillars. It is a parafin/soy blend, in my opinion, it burns clean and has great hot/cold throw. You only need to add about 6% FO per pound and no other additives. I have heard that their CB-30 is a good wax for containers as well. You can find Calwax at http://www.swanscandles.com/Checkout4Pro/waxcan.htm Best of luck in your wax search! I know I tried several different ones before I settled on one, then had just recently switched to this wax. HTH Jeff
  5. Henry, I know http://www.moonglowcandles.net/molds.htm has flat votive wick pins. You may want to contact them and see if they can get you a flat pillar wick pin.
  6. Try Here http://www.wicknclip.com/index.html
  7. Hello All. I am just curious and wanted to hear from those who make a big batxh of votives at one time. Do you clean your molds before the next batch? If so, then what do you to clean them? I currently clean my molds after every batch with hot water, I have also experimented with Orange Clean Wipes which seem to work pretty good. I am looking to see what you all do and if there is something I should be doing. TIA Jeff
  8. I Got Calwax CB10......great votive/Pillar wax, has an excellant hot/cold throw HTH Jeff
  9. I sell them individually or give them a price break if they buy a dozen (mix or match)..............HTH Jeff

  12. Going to start getting ready for a show next month, so I will be pouring votives and pillars.
  13. I used to use CleanWax as well and CalWax CB10 was recommended to me. I just got finished testing some votives and pillars. I must say that I am very pleased with this wax, I didn't have to re-test trying to find the right wick as the wicks I was using for CleanWax are performing just fine with this new wax. You can purchase CalWax here http://www.swanscandles.com/Checkout4Pro/waxcan.htm I also didn't have to add any additives to this wax. It has a great Hot/Cold throw and I have been using about 1oz FO per pound. Good Luck Jeff
  14. Where do you get yours if you don't mind me asking? I have been looking around for both kinds and have only found a site or two that has them.
