  1. This sounds like a candle (fragrance) that Pier One sells. It's one of my favorites and I haven't found it yet either!!
  2. It looks great, pretty darn good for your first one, love the color too.
  3. Very Nice candle! I'm jealous:p cause I tried my hand at mottling this weekend (first time) and nothing, zilch, nadda, and I'm pretty sure it's the wax I'm using, or not using . What wax did you use?
  4. That's ok Tucker, I'll take them, I mean someone has to do the dirty job of a matyr and I'm real good at it!!! Donita, I'm so impressed again!!! They look great!
  5. I second that! I'm putting these on the list of things to try.
  6. A beautiful candle, I'm so impressed by the quality of work. Don't give up on making more of them! Hopefully one day I'll venture into such a technique but for now I'll leave it to you pro's!
  7. WoW! It does look like a profession display in a store. I really like your candles too.
  8. I don't use a waterbath either. I do like to put my molds in the freezer before I pour. Good luck!
  9. In a book I have called "The Candle Maker - How to make candles in your own kitchen" there is a similar design. They use modeling wax of varing colors, rolled into a sausage, thinly sliced, and then placed on the candle. The directions in the book are more advanced than I explained it but you get the idea.
  10. For the first time I'm trying out a candle today for sinus and congestion using a 2 parts eucalyptus, 5 parts cedarwood, and 1 part fine lavender essential oil blend, mmmm smells pretty good. I poured about 20min ago and I'll prolly burn it this weekend.
  11. No rolling your eyes now, I don't exactly know what type of wax I have:tongue2: . I purchased 50 lbs of plain parafin with a melt point of 133F to 135F at Hobby Lobby before I knew that there are so many different waxes available. And of course before you guys started educating me. I used 1/2oz of essential oil and 3tbs stearic per lb of wax and it's burning well. After burning three times at 3hrs each the sides are slightly curling but not too badly. I'm going to make a candle with Eucalyptus and Cedarwood Atlas EO's tomorrow, good for congestion wich we need in this neck of the wood this time of the year. Hope that one will burn as well!!!
