laurenscandlebakery
I was watching Nickelodeon today (could not find the remote lol) and they were showcasing a fifteen-year old boy who owns his own candle company. The story is really awesome and I thought it was worth sharing! The name of the company is Man Cans. They buy soup cans off the shelf by the 1,000's, then go to their local soup kitchen and serve it to the homeless. After that they clean the cans, remove the labels, wick and pour candles with man-inspired scents; ie bacon, bbq, pizza, etc. I wish I had thought of that! (And at such a young age. That's great!) Its philanthropy and a business all in one Edited August 10, 2012 by laurenscandlebakery
TallTayl
The 14 year old boy in me snickers every time I read that name "Man Cans". In all seriousness, the original goal of the company was great. I saw the story a while back and followed for a while. Not sure how the goals align now that the company has evolved. IIRC there's a thread on this board about it.
