GrinningGoblin
I had a batch come out with some ash yesterday, and looking for a solution I found this link in another forum. It worked so I thought I would pass it along.http://lather-be-soaping.blogspot.com/2012/04/dreaded-soda-ash.html
Camay
I've done the isopropyl alcohol method, and it works for me.
nursenancy
I just bought a steamer specifically for that, but haven't tried it yet. Edited June 2, 2012 by nursenancy typo
leisa2003
You can boil water in a pot over the stove and steam it away. I get alot less ash from not letting my soap go through the gel phase.

jeanie353
I don't know if my soaps gel or not because I don't know what to look for when they are done and when they are resting they are covered. My castile does have a little ash on some of the bars but I don't see anything on the others. Anyway, I'm going to try a hand wrinkle remover steamer on them.
