vberkesch
Hi all, How much advertising should I expect at a store selling my products if I am paying rent PLUS 5%? It just seems like there is no advertising in the papers that go out in our area except maybe 2 a year. One B4 Christmas & one around mothers day. I see other businesses that are similar have weekly adds? What do u all think?
NaturallyTru
Are they advertising in other venues? How are your sales?
Kitn
Did they promise more advertising?
vberkesch
No I didnt get an idea of an amount of advertising. The 5% commission was to help pay for advertising. My sales have been down after Christmas. They are starting to pick up again.
NaturallyTru
Make a list of advertising sources and ask them if they have heard of them. They may not know how to properly advertise. Are they on FB? Ask them to print up flyers that you can pass out at craft shows, etc. You can place an ad on Craigslist advertising your items and then mention you have a "booth" at xxx.I'd also take a guess at how much 5% sales they had last holiday season by the number of vendors and buying customers they seemed to have. Is that in line with one ad for Mothers Day...or should have gone further?
