tins with seams - would it work for b&b?

I know people use tins with seams for candles and just seal them up with modge podge, is there something that can be done for b&b? Do you think it would be ok to simply clean them out and just put the body butter (what have you) in - they won't be melted like wax...hopefully lol

You can use tins for B&B as long as your product has no water in it.

I just got a fabulous tin of Mango Body Butter from Liz and I personally think that its a FAB container for butters. The shallow kind. If there is water in your product you will have rust forming within a matter of time.

Yeah, I'll be sure not to put any product containing water in there....

I dunno...maybe it was just the candlemaker in me thinking I had to seal them lol Now that I think about it, they don't need to be sealed to put body butters or lotion bars and stuff like that....right?

I've never sealed a tin for B&B or candles.

FYI....if left in constant contact with water, mod-podge will soften up again. Not sure what this would mean for butters/creams etc. that contained no water, but the oils themselves might have an effect.

I would test first....mod-podge a container and let it dry thoroughly, then fill will some oil or butter and just let it sit. HTH.
