periwinkle
For my first batch of soap, I used LCP white base from BB, and added shea butter to it. I was looking at some FO at Peak, so I thought I would just order some base from them as well. Of course, a couple of questions entered my mind: 1. How do BB's LCP white base, and Peak's Low Sweat white base compare? and 2. If I go with a shea base, can I add extra shea butter to it, or would it be too much? Faerywren
Bramble berry and Peak both carry SFIC bases, so they're likely the same. Brambleberry's bulk m&p bases aren't SFIC, and would be different from Peak.
tlc
I am so new to soap that you can't even call me a newbie so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I have tried both Bramble Berry's M&P Shea and Peak's M&P Shea and I did see a difference between the two. I don't know, maybe my skin is sensitive but I felt a little "bite" (I don't know how else to describe it better) when I used the soap I made with the BB base. I've always wondered if it was just me or if there really is a difference. I had a few bars of each laying around in a drawer which had been there for over 2 years :embarasse and the BB one had formed little bubble/crystal like things on the top where the Peak had not and I wonder why that is too. Maybe all the difference's were due to the f/o? I don't know.

I love the SFIC bases, that is the only one I can use on my skin.
tlc
perwinkle, I have been reading more about soap and from what I have read so far the "fuzzy" stuff I had on my BB bars were probably caused from the bar drawing in moisture and had nothing to do with the FO or base. Remember, I'm a newbie and have ZERO clue so next time I will keep my lips zipped.
