Eye Serum

Pengu

Recommended Posts

I want to make an eye serum comprising of a number of EO and CO. I will use oils that are beneficial for the delicate skin around the eyes. My question is how do I know how much of each EO to use when I am using more than my EO and more than one CO. A worked example would make me very happy! :)

TIA.

What is EO and CO?

I'm thinking Essential Oils with Coconut Oil as the carrier?

Pengu, don't know if you are familiar with Susan Barclay-Nichols, but she has a wonderful blog where she discusses all types of ingredients, their chemistry, and has numerous recipes and helpful tips. There is a ton of information on the site, including toner and serum recipes. But, it does require some searching to find things. Might be worth your time to look through the site.

Soap Queen has a recipe as well

I get mine from http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=HA1 and I put it straight on my skin under my eyes to get rid of bags under the eyes. Naturlines and Naturlift are great too and can be added to a lotion base. http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=NATLN

TexasBrat....Am interested in the product along with the other two you suggested, am ready to order but a bit confused to the dilution of HA which would determine the amount of product I buy.

Am I correct in reading that it should be used at 1% or less to a ratio of 1:99 in say HA to water? Or do you use it straight? I am looking for my own use to eliminate puffiness and moisturize.

TIA

I believe it is saying the HA can be used from 1% to 10% in your product choice but you can use it straight on your skin, I do. So, if you want to make 32oz of lotion and you just want to add 1% then you would only need to order .5oz of HA or if you wanted to add 2% then you would need to purchase 1oz to be sure you have enough. hth
