Pengu
I want to make an eye serum comprising of a number of EO and CO. I will use oils that are beneficial for the delicate skin around the eyes. My question is how do I know how much of each EO to use when I am using more than my EO and more than one CO. A worked example would make me very happy! TIA. ProudMarineMom
What is EO and CO?I'm thinking Essential Oils with Coconut Oil as the carrier?Pengu, don't know if you are familiar with Susan Barclay-Nichols, but she has a wonderful blog where she discusses all types of ingredients, their chemistry, and has numerous recipes and helpful tips. There is a ton of information on the site, including toner and serum recipes. But, it does require some searching to find things. Might be worth your time to look through the site.http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/Soap Queen has a recipe as wellhttp://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/soaks-and-scrubs/healing-eye-serum/ Edited January 23, 2012 by ProudMarineMom
AlwaysWondering
I'm pretty sure that Essential Oils combined should not be over 3% of your solution. I think the key will be the Carrier Oils. Many have excellent anti-aging benefits.
ProudMarineMom
Boy, I misread that. I thought it said EO in CO. The AND is definitely meaningful in this case and makes a difference to the CO abbreviation. I'm blaming it on cleaning all day :lipsrseal
TexasBrat
That is what i thought you meant eo and co were essential and coconut. Why would you want essential oils on your skin close to your eyes? What are you trying to accomplish with the eye serum? Getting of wrinkles? Puffiness? Pengu
I meant essential oils in a carrier oil base. I am just confused I thought essential oils could be used diluted around the eye?

TexasBrat
I get mine from http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=HA1 and I put it straight on my skin under my eyes to get rid of bags under the eyes. Naturlines and Naturlift are great too and can be added to a lotion base. http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=NATLN http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=NATLT

Or do you use it straight? I am looking for my own use to eliminate puffiness and moisturize. TIA
TexasBrat
I believe it is saying the HA can be used from 1% to 10% in your product choice but you can use it straight on your skin, I do. So, if you want to make 32oz of lotion and you just want to add 1% then you would only need to order .5oz of HA or if you wanted to add 2% then you would need to purchase 1oz to be sure you have enough. hth
