clueless
Can someone please recommend a nice shea butter to me. I bought some from WSP the natural shea butter. I was very happy with it and love that its really really thick. But I want to experiment before settling and I think WSP is a bit over priced on most items, even though I find myself still buying lol.I had bought some African Shea butter and was completely unhappy with it. In the photo it looked solid and thick. But what I received was something that resembled vaseline. Is that how it's supposed to look? Or did I get a bad batch? TexasBrat
Sounds like you may have gotten refined shea. It has a different texture then unrefined. I get my shea butter from http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=SHEBURW
CareBear
Refined shea is stark white. If your shea was softer and sticker, but not stark white, then it was probably just whipped up.I like Shea Radiance and Coastal Scentshttp://www.shearadiance.com/bulk-shea/ http://www.coastalscents.com/make-your-own-1/skin-care-ingredients/butters-waxes-jelly/bw-002.html
clueless
It has a slight yellow color to it. Very shiny and greasy feeling. looks just like a tub of vasaline for reals lol.I do not like it at all. Its horrible. The african shea I love the natural shea butter from wsp. I'm assuming since it was natural shea butter it wasn't refined, correct?
chemistryman
Try the Agbanga co-op. I have about 7Kg of their shea in the refri. Unrefined class A. Solid at room temp.
