julz81
HI, a newbie here, been looking around the m&P forums for a few days and have a few questions. So I found wsp supplier today, and saw they have free shipping and was really surprised. Is there a catch? lol such as are their prices way more than other sites? I noticed the base is little more than other sites but does it equal out with no shipping? what are your experiences of this supplier? As for the shea butter and stuff like that, Are they available in stores like whole food coops or health food stores or just online? What is the best options for this? For me just starting out, what would be your must have supplies that you would reccomend I get at the beginning?thanks in advance for any help!! Kitn
If the price with shipping is less than other places I would go for it.I can find shea, cocoa butter and some oils in health food stores here. They cost a lot more than ordering online tho.As to starting out, molds, fragrances, colorants, shea butter some oils and go from there. moon01945
I was able to find Shea, coconut and other oils at health food stores and places like that when I only needed a little bit to experiment with at first. Those totally work. Once you have a recipe and a process it is good to stick to the same product and supplier so you producing consistant product. I do this with my CP soap but I also pour 100 ounces at a time per fragrance. Not sure what supplier you are looking at so it is hard to comment on their product. I've only gotten from a few places on line but others have gone through a lot of suppliers.

Beth
I would check several suppliers and do the math with shipping. And also the delivery time! lol
clueless
I have ordered a lot of stuff from this supplier so far. Just placed 2 different orders with them this week. You do have to sort of shop around because sometimes other places will be cheaper. But for some reason just knowing I don't have to pay shipping makes me feel better. They have good product and I have been very happy with everything that I have ordered so far. IMO they have great prices on most of their items

What is the best options for this? Soaper's Choice in IL has a good selection, decent prices and very good shipping prices. Here're some more good suppliers - there are so many from which to choose!http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/http://www.brambleberry.com/default.aspxhttp://www.thesage.com/catalog/index.htmlhttp://www.naturesgardencandles.com/ I noticed the base is little more than other sites but does it equal out with no shipping? You will have to check prices with/without shipping and do the math to see for yourself. In the General Candlemaking Forum, there is a sticky that says "Helpful Links for Newbies" from there go to abbreviations and supplier links. There's a huge list of suppliers for soap, fragrance, candles - you name it. To save on shipping, pick one close to you.
