LeahRB
I wanted to know if anyone could tell me the saponification value of the GV all vegetable shortening. It is a mix of cottonseed and soybean oil. I usually use the GV palm/tallow shortening and it is listed on soapcalc, but I'm out. Any help is appreciated. LeahRB
gv is on soapcalc. HTHSteve[/quoteSteve, the GV on soap calc is for the palm/tallow one and not the soybean/cottonseed. I could not find anywhere that listed the latter.
chuck_35550
"Walmart GV All-Vegetable Shortening" is the same as an older version of Crisco. It is primarily made using partially hydrogenated soybean and cottonseed oils and comes in a 48 oz paper can. In SoapCalc use "Crisco, old".This information is in the FAQ part of the site.
