Does 1343 parffin "change"?

Recommended Posts

I bought my paraffin a couple of years ago. It has been in my basement - cool, but not damp - in a plastic tub. I have been pouring rustic pillars the past few days and I suddenly can't get frost to save my soul but I've been getting mottles like I've never seen before! My steric is equally as old (also kept in plastic tub) and I could see it getting old and not making the frost anymore, but that doesn't explain the mottles.

thoughts?

This is the same box I've had forever. Yes, I pour cool - 140° to 150° and last year got frost....this year I get mottle. Funny thing is I tried mottles before and it was always hit or miss. Now, it's just hit. Oh well.
