Georgia
I bought my paraffin a couple of years ago. It has been in my basement - cool, but not damp - in a plastic tub. I have been pouring rustic pillars the past few days and I suddenly can't get frost to save my soul but I've been getting mottles like I've never seen before! My steric is equally as old (also kept in plastic tub) and I could see it getting old and not making the frost anymore, but that doesn't explain the mottles.thoughts? IwantItgreen
1343 usually mottles, but is not guaranteed too. So I'm not surprised to see you say that it mottles. Interesting about the stearic tho. You pour around 150*?
Scented
You know some batches I've noticed that no matter how cool I pour I can't get the frost, but it'll mottle (which I love lol). But really in the case after case after case we're going through, I'm not seeing much change.
Georgia
This is the same box I've had forever. Yes, I pour cool - 140° to 150° and last year got frost....this year I get mottle. Funny thing is I tried mottles before and it was always hit or miss. Now, it's just hit. Oh well.
