Wessex Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 No, but sometimes small occasional mushrooms can be lived with.Mushrooming is a sign of incomplete combustion, just like soot. It could be because of wicking issues, too much FO, dye issues, or a miriad of other causes (as well as combinations of causes). sporadic Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 I have always gotten mushrooms with burning a candle, whether I made it or a store bought candle. I've come to the conclusion that some wicks shroom more than other and I don't use them any more. Zinc is one type of wick. No matter what wax, what size, what wick, I get huge billowing mushrooms that are fit for the horror movies with zinc wicks.TL's, Eco's, CD's, and ply wicks tend to not have this characteristic for me.
