se2653
I'm looking for a nice, bakery type vanilla, that is long lasting in lotion- any suggestions? I really like the camille beckman french vanilla scent, and would like to duplicate if possible- any ideas are welcome! I'm new to making lotions, is there a way to make the fragrance last longer in lotions too? Thanks for your help!!
adillenal
Are you asking how to make the scent from the lotion remain on the skin longer? The purpose of a lotion (in my opinion) is not for scenting the skin for an extended period of time so I do not try to do that.
mychellec
I am also looking for a great vanilla scent. I just find many of them too sweet. As for a lasting scent, the only way I have been able to achieve that is to layer a scented lotion with a matching body spray on top. Then the scent hangs around for awhile. I hope others chime in with some good vanilla recommendations!
charmcandleco
Candle Science has two awesome vanillas. Very vanilla is my favorite. It is more on the bakery side. Vanilla lace is a really good one to. I have mixed the two together for a perfect scent for lotions. This blend does last on the skin for awhile. josie1091
My vanilla lovers love Vanilla Select from Brambleberry. I have only used it in bath and body, but everyone loves it. All ages. Especially the young ones. Great in lotions, sprays, roll-on perfumes, bath bombs, etc.
se2653
thanks for the suggestions- I do have the Vanilla Select from BB, so I will try it. I was also thinking of trying one of the birthday cake or frosting fo, but not sure if that would be too sweet. It's amazing how many vanillas are out there! I've found that some have a medicine smell when I mix in the lotion, and some have a baby powder smell- quite a variety!! I really liked the Vanilla Bean scent from Candlepro, but it was not very strong in lotion, and faded so fast. Keep the suggestions coming- I'm new to this and I welcome any advice from all of you!! Wildcrafter
www.stjohnsbotanicals.com has vanilla essential oil that works very well in my creams and soaps. Ain't nothing like the real thang, baby!
Ann M
I love Daystar Vanilla Cookies. It's a dupe of BBW's Vanilla Bean Noel. I love the buttery caramel vanilla notes!Ann M
