Gucci
After several years of buying pre blended waxes I started buying straight parrafin and been experimenting with different amounts of stearic and vybar to see what I get. Does anyone else do this or should I stop playing mad scientist and go back to pre blended?
Sag_77
I use IGI 1230 and then add to it, I personally never had luck with the preblended waxes.
Gucci
I've never had much luck either unless it was soy, but for the types of candles I enjoy making I need the versatility of paraffin.Guess I still keep playing around with different combos
Scented
Straight paraffin user here too with additives.
Gucci
Excellent! I'm not alone in my love for the paraffin I still haven't found the combination I'm most happy with.....but I'm getting closer.
EricofAZ
I got away from straight paraffin and additives and went to the blends. Glad I only bought a slab of each. I'm inclined to return to the base paraffin and add my own stuff to it again.I do have to say, I like the way IGI 1274 looks and performs so I think I'll stay with that in my containers and get rid of the 6006 and 4686. Also, I like the way the 4625 burns in a 3" pillar without additives (I think IGI already has some vybar in it.)
