Lotion Bars

For those that make lotion bars what size do you make them. I want to add some to my line of B&B products.

I either use the 1oz push up clear tubes or make a 2oz bar by mold and then package it in a tin.

Mine are an ounce , I use tins.

I use the .75 oz. twist up tubes from Elements and it gives me a 1 oz. product.

Made my first lotion bars. I used a recipe off this site which was 3 oz beeswax, 3 oz shea butter and 3 oz other oil of choice. I am thinking this is going to be way to waxy! YIKESSSS

That is the regular combination, 1/3 wax.1/3 butter. 1/3 oil, what kind of oils did you use?

I used a combination of sweet almond oil 1.5 oz and 1.5 oz coconut oil.

It just seems so waxy and greasy! but its great for the elbows and feet!

I did find a recipe that calls for 1 to 3 beeswax to oils I am gonna try that one hope its not to soft.... I will just have to play with the recipe until I get it where I like it....

This is the recipe I use ( found it on this forum) and it makes roughly 16oz and it not greasy!

4oz beeswax

4oz cocoa butter

2oz mango butter

4oz shea butter

4oz oil ( I use jojoba)

Thanks for the recipe should be a good one with all the butters. I will have to give this a try.

My lotion bars are also 2 oz. I used to make the 1 oz bars but found that they were a little too small. I do have a wholesale customer that insists on only the 1 oz, and she sells them like crazy, so I continue to make them only for her. :smiley2:
