bugsb1
Please help!!!!! I've almost given up one last shot. Can anyone suggest a wick for a 9 oz hez jar using j223, 1.5 oz Fo. I've tried everything from a 60z to 14Cd to a lx28 and I still get a poor melt pool with a weak flame. When I used the higher wicks It starts out flickering then some light smoke. but as the time goes on a a small pool starts teh flame goes very weak and I barely get a 1/4 pool depth. Any help? Could I double wick.? I really never heard of this with a 9oz but I'm at my end......ThanksTim
SteveinPA
The problem might be the amount of FO you're using. Try cutting back to 1 oz./lb. I've made some a while ago with J223 and used 44z or 51z wicks (depending on how heavy the FO was), and they burned great.
Sara
I agree. Not sure who your supplier is for this FO, but I use WSP for that one and did not have problems with it. It is a strong 3-5% FO for me. Just because you *can* load up to a 9% does mean you have to. Or should, IMO.
bugsb1
Thanks, added a couple of pounds of just wax and it's burning like a champ. Thanks.
