8-GRAN-ONES
hi..soy327..sorry you are having trouble...i hardly ever have had that happen..just a few times..and i figured it was maybe the fo...but then again...i can hardly ever can go down that low of wick size,to get a good melt pool..with a 4" diameter jar...are you getting a total melt pool with those sizes of wicks?within 2 hrs. or so? i like my melt pool to not go over 1/3" in 4 hrs..also what type of wax are you using?i use soy GB 415.. soy327
I am using ecsoya 135. I tested the 415 and 135 and like both but am sticking wirh the 135.My friend wants an apothacary jar and that is what I'm trying to wick, the cd5's flame went really low so I made one with the cd6's and it was great FMP in about 4hrs didn't get deep about 1/4 to 1/3 but on about the 3rd or 4th burn to black appeared on top of the wax. You never said what wicks you used.maybe people don't mind a little black soot? on top of the wax but I think it looks dirty.Linda
8-GRAN-ONES
i use cd wicks...and my normal wick size is from 10 to 16...mostly 12's..for this size of jar..is it really black soot...floating on the top?if it is..it probably is your fo...i have had that happen, butnot very often... soy327
Grans, It was Mango peach Salsa from Peak. Maybe I will try another fragrance and see. I thought it had to be the wick, hope you're right. Are you using 2 of the cd 12's? I went from 8 to 7, then tried cd6 but I had color in them. I am finding that with the color it seems to get a bigger melt pool. burns faster than without the color Thanks for the help.Linda:tiptoe: keep on tryin
