SatinDucky Posted November 28, 2005 Share Posted November 28, 2005 If you choose to. There are a number of ways of doing it. If you use a tabbed wick, you just push it into place. Some people even pull the wick pin out while the candle is still in the mold, insert the wick, then do the repour. Assuming you're using the pin on the outside, that is. You can also insert the wick and set the bottom on a hot flat surface to level it and seal the wick in place at the same time. Personally, I prefer tabbed wicks. butterfly Posted November 28, 2005 Share Posted November 28, 2005 If you are asking about the top of the candle I don't. Don't want to mess up the top with the heat gun. If you are talking about the bottom, I use tabbed wicks(as "the Duck" does) and yes I hit the bottom with the heat to stick the tab to the candle.
