SprinklesWife
I'm hoping someone can help me out as this was my first attempt to make votive candles. My mom and I made 8 votives today however 4 of them got stuck in the mold. The other 4 came out really easy. How do we get them out??? What could have happened? We made 4 of one kind and 4 of another. Thanks so much!
Lisa
Put them in the freezer for a few minutes.
Terayne
you can also speed up the cooling process in the freezer...but be careful...if it cools too quickly, the well won't develop properly...leaving cavities from air pockets. But as previously mentioned....a topped off candle still stuck will release with some time in the freezer.
mbroom2005
The other extreme is to put them in an oven on warm. Let the wax remelt and rebond to the mold at which point they cool at relatively the same rate. When they cool they should pop right out. We do this with tarts from time to time just as a last resort....
Kaybee23
I wouldn't put them in the freezer for the initial cooling off. But if they stick a bit, 3 or 4 mins. in the freezer will help them release from the cups. Be careful taking them off the pins, if they are too cold, it will cause them to crack.
