SoapInTheCity
So I normally by the unrefined Shea butter for soapmaking, and accidently bought the refined Shea Butter. What is the difference when it comes to soapmaking according the the soap calculations? There is only a button for Shea Butter (Karite) for calculating lye/water, percentages etc. Is it considered the same values as unrefined? Thanks girls! CareBear
no difference in SAP between refined and unrefined so no change in your calculations.and other than color (refined shea can result in a slightly whiter soap than the unrefined if you use it at a high level) I've seen no difference in soap qualities.
