Jan
Hi all,First of all I'd like to say that I'm so glad that I found this group - I've been reading and you guys are just too funny. Anyway, here's my question -- I made some soy candles and I'm using ramekins as one of the containers. I noticed today that these have a white "ring" around the perimeter... It looks kinda like a thin layer of foam.. is this normal? TIA!jn
topofmurrayhill
Soy wax is prone to a light discoloration called frost. Sorry if you know about all that already, but it sounded like that's what you might be seeing. I don't know exactly why it happens with your ramekins, but it's affected by cooling rate and I suppose that would account for it in some way.Sounds like your soy needs a whipping.
