Daves'sHomemade
A few months ago I made one of those Wax Melters using the Presto Kettle Cooker and the spigot setup. Here is my question.........lets say I add 5 lbs of IGI 4794 and one day I only pour 1 lb, let the rest cool and 3 days later melt it again and only pour 2 lbs. What I'm trying to find out is it bad or does it degrade the wax (plain no FO or color) to melt and cool numerous times? It just makes it so much easier to keep it ready to go with wax. Thanks, Dave
Starr
I haven't worked with that particular wax, but as a rule, I don't like to melt stuff more then 3 times.

During my busy season I will keep my melters (2 large melters) on all the time, for days at a time, but at 150 deg. and then heat up for pouring. I only have to re-heat no more than once and sometimes twice.
bugtussle
We use 4794 for clams and keep one presto devoted to that wax. We reheat when needed; sometimes 4 or 5 times. It does not hurt the wax. Carole
