CraftyChris
Anyone seen these? They look like a real long stem rose. It's a votive on a stem. Or a rose shapped votive. I have the silicone molds for the rose votives, anybody have the instructions on how to twist it all together?
Tess
I don't think I took a pic of mine. I may have to go to the shop and snap one. I did not wick mine, but intend it to work as a "tart" to melt in a melt pot. I was going to wick them but did not figure out a good way to secure it to the stem with the wick tab and all. I just bought a cheap 25cent 1/2 dozen bouquet of fake flowers from wally world. Removed the flowers, stuck the wax roses on the stems. I filled a vase with the clear deco beads, and arranged the bouquet. Only thing I am not completely satisfied with is that the roses are really heavy and cause the stems to bend a little. OverSoyed
I'd imagine that a green painted dowel would work better than a plastic stem due to the weight. They have 1/4" dowels for around 15 cents at most hobby stores.Just glue your dowel to the wicking tab.

brown5052
Could you open the pdf and cut and paste?Might be a long post but we'll forgive you Oh my, I feel stupid. I should have been able to figure that one out myself! Ok, Here it goes.Easy Votive FlowersThese are incredibly fast and easy to make! They are great forfundraisers, quick gifts or favors for wedding or baby showers.Supplies Needed: Votive Size Flower Candle Floral Tape Silk Rose Leaves 9” Square or Round Piece ofTulle Plastic Sticks & Cups ScissorsSTEP 1 Gather your materials and prepare yourwork area.STEP 2 Insert stick into the plastic cup.STEP 3 Place votive on top of the cup. Center thepiece of tulle over the votive flower and pull down overthe sides of flower to the stem. Twist the tulle around thestick so that the candle will be held in place and the extratulle will become part of your stem.STEP 4 Starting at the top of the stick below the votiveflower, wrap the floral tape tightly around the tulle to createyour flower stem. Gradually work your way down thetulle onto the stick.STEP 5 When you are about 2” down from the cup, hold your first leaf against the stick and wrap the floraltape around stick and leaf wire. Place your second leafabout 1” below the first leaf and wrap both leaf wires andthe stick.STEP 6 Continue wrapping floral tape all the way downthe stick. When at the end cut with scissors, and wrapthe remainder of the floral tape on the stick.** Selling Tip ** Keep business cards with a messageprinted on the back “Happy Birthday”, etc. for customersto sign for a quick gift! And they are easy. Unfortunately the cut and paste didn't copy the pretty pictures I have for an illustration which made it a lot easier for me. I hope this helps. Oh, the one thing I didn't like though was that the weight of the votives made the balloon stick bend a bit. so I think maybe using a dowel as OverSoyed suggested would do the trick. puddin1970
I would love to see one finished. Do you have any pic? that sounds like a wonderful project. Thanks for the advice and the instructions!!
Beth-VT
I've made many of these, and personally i think the plastic sticks suck. They're just too weak to hold the weight of a votive. I use 12" wooden craft sticks, 1/4", and put the cups on the end.

CathyinME
Those are cute. Where might we find the plastic stick & cups? Not sure about the sticks but I think the little cups can be found at a party store, I think they use them for balloons.
